I used to use a leave -in -conditioner on my DD's hair- nice and easy- use a wide toothed comb for detangling, not a brush-better for her hair and less painful. When it is longer put it in a pigtail at bedtime to stop the tangles ( we used to say it stopped the teddies having a party in her hair when she was asleep-but when she was about 3yo)

My DD went on to grow gorgeous long hair- sadly she made me cut it off when she was 7, is now a sophisticated 8yo with a bob and no fringe.I did love her long hair though.

My DDs are 3 and 15 months old, they both have terribly frizzy hair ( comes from the south african half of family) and i used to use tescos own kids detangling spray but it seemed to leave their hair sticky. My MIL suggested using pure coconut oil conditioner (home & bargains have this) mixed with a little bit of baby oil when we wash their hair then john frieda frizz ease, it works a treat. Also when the older one is done i tend to plait her hair and brush it every night before bed and re-plait it so its not as tatty in the morning.

;)you spend the first years of your childs life encouraging them to walk and talk and then spend the next 15 years telling them to sit down and shut up!

    HI
I use Garnier Fructis long and strong anti split ends leave in cream, but it is not easy to get( or ask for with that moniker!) I am just trialling Sunsilk leave in conditioner. The best detangler was Johnsons, but leave in conditioners on the hair not next to scalp ( otherwise can get grease) are my fav on my daughters hair. Also as has been mentioned a good wide tooth detangling comb.

Also my daughters hair is always worse when it needs a trim - it doesn't make sense but trimming 1/4 inch of the ends reduces tangling 3 to 4" up the hair!!

Otherwise a short bob looks gorgeous on little ones - really french and cute. A bob along chin line.

My 10yo has very very long and very very thick hair which also tangles if you just look at it.

I have used all de-tangle sprays since she was 18 months old but most just left her hair greasy after a couple of days.

The best thing I have found is - as someone has already mentioned - Fructis leave in conditioner. Unfortunately it is a nightmare to get hold of - our asda and tesco's don't sell it.

I now wash her hair - when she lets me which isn't often - 2-3 times a week and put loads of conditioner in. Currently using Alberto Balsm at .98p a bottle!

I use good old fashioned brylcreem on the ends of my hair after its been washed as it is heavily bleached and i am trying to grow it. However, dont use any more than a pea sized amount on your childs hair and rub it into the palms of your hands/fingers first or you will run the risk of it looking if you have dipped her hair in a vat of oil. Its brilliant stuff.

Johnson & Johnson Kids detangler is brilliant and is Just for Me kids detangler - I've used this since3 i was a little girl and both work amazingly on my very dry afro hair.

I use sunsilk leave in conditioner on my girls. put it on before they go to bed and give a quick brush through - I use a natural bristel brush as it spreads the oils from the scalp evenly down the hairshaft. I then either lightly plait it or put it into a soft bobble for them to go to bed with, In the morning when I brush it again its tangle free. this stuff does nothing for my hair but its seems really good for my kids and keeps it shiny and healthy looks. gawd I sound like an advert. I so wish I was that girl with the blonde hair off the old timotae ads.
