  • ....and no one has confirmed you CAN keep your BT telephone number. I am ex-directory too. Don't want to start getting loads of sales calls etc if I switch to SKY.

I kept my BT number and have remained ex-directory. You can also have caller display and your number withheld for all your calls free of charge if you ask.

How did you get them to delay the migration? I rang them and they kept offering the free line rental with broadband + credit and I said I would think about it.

When you speak to the "olympus" team, although "specialists" on the o2 situation, their role is primarily a sales one.

You need to refocus them away from wanting to sign you up onto a new deal, and assert you don't want to migrate until the latest possible date, asking them to put you to the end of the procedure.

They say the end is not expected till June or July next year.

Well for me that would be costing me more to hold off until June because i am already paying £15 a montbBT line rental and £9.50 o2 broadband. Makes sense to snap up the far lower deal as soon as possible.

I’ve issued your MAC – but you can still change your mind with one of these great offers

We’re sorry that you’re thinking about leaving O2/BE. As promised, I’ve issued your MAC, but if you change your mind about moving your broadband service to Sky, here’s a reminder of the special offers that are available to you.

Sky Line Rental and Sky Broadband Unlimited with Sky Talk – all for just £7.50 a month for 12 months plus a £75 credit.Move your broadband to Sky and we’ll give you line rental, free for a year – that’s a saving of £184.80 against our standard price for monthly line rental. So, you’ll pay just £7.50 a month for Sky Broadband Unlimited, weekend UK landline calls# and line rental for a whole year – that’s less than BT charge for monthly line rental alone.

If you want Sky Broadband Unlimited and don’t want to change your line rental provider, you can take Sky Broadband Unlimited for £5 a month for 12 months without our line rental.
And, if you join, you’ll also receive a £75 welcome credit on your first Sky bill.

Just so you know, you can always change your mind on Sky Broadband or Talk once you’re set up with our 30 day Broadband and Talk Satisfaction Guarantee.
I hope we can welcome you to Sky soon.

Does anybody know about the bold text below and if it applies to o2/be customers leaving o2/sky........

    Hello
Here's your MAC key: ?????????????????. You'll need to give this to your new broadband supplier, if you decide to leave. It expires on date: 20/12/2013. If it expires and you still want to leave, call us and we'll get you a new one. If you'd like to stay, then you don't need to do a thing.

Don't forget our seven day notice period. As long as you wait seven days from the date you told us you wanted to leave, we won't charge you. If you're still in a contract though, we'll have to charge you for leaving it early.

If you're moving to Sky, please ignore this email
    Best regards,
    The Sky Home Communications Team

Just spoken to Sky re 7 days notice, they say if I use mac before 7 days there will be a £25 to £30 charge for doing so, even though I was on an o2 12 months free contract . bit of a pain as I wanted to go to plusnet using the quidco £70 cashback which finishes in 4 days......

That's why I don't trust them. They will say anything on the phone to get you to sign up.

Sorry they have shafted you :(
