Because a good friend owns a motor spares shop and has checked the spec of our car with peugeot and it's all bog standard stuff.

    That's how I know!

The correct cost of a car MOT is £54.85...

So you expect to get that and a service for £99 :rotfl:

So at the very least you are looking at 1 hour labour on a service £50 is very cheap for this.... never mind the consumables required.

If that's what they advertise without any obvious exceptions or terms, then why shouldn't op expect that? Op did though of course have the opportunity to decline the offer and go elsewhere.

As for the MOT test price, it's rare for garages (even places like we only mot) to charge the full allowed amount - more like £30-£35 in many areas.
What odds on a MOT fail on every car tested

    The odds are high.

Never understood why people get sucked in by cheap MOT prices offered by Garages.

These offers normally refer to cars with a small engine that take non-synthetic oil. I imagine a 307 would take semi-synthetic or fully synthetic.

If they advertise a service and MOT for £99, then yes that is EXACTLY what I'd expect. Regardless of MOT cost, service items and labour.

Then you may be able to report them to Trading Standards and ASA as its effectively a bait and switch.

As the OP hasn't lost any money on this I have to ask would you really bother reporting an advert that hasn't actually affected you?

Surely life is too short and they've better things to be doing?

Same price advertised in kwik Fit ,service and MOT for £99.00,the their trick is they tell you that your car needs this that and the next to pass its MOT test, take it to the the council and it would probably sail through.

These type of places have been getting away with fraud for years and will keep getting away with it.

Why does Watchdog never look at this ?.

Depends how the sign is worded. If it says FOR then possibly. If it says FROM then no. For example most tyre places advertise new tyres FROM £25. But this would apply to a car with 155/70/14 sizes.

Well arguably if the OP expected to get MOT & service for £99 (and the advert doesnt state T&C's apply or something along those lines which could be a "get out" clause) and isnt getting it....they have been affected.

If more people complained perhaps companies would stop trying to take the !!!!.

    They've lost no money.

Frankly if you would complain about this you need to get yourself a hobby! Unless complaining about petty violations in advertising is your hobby!
