If you paid for recorded delivery but it was received just 1st class but you were really happy with the item, would you bother saying anything?

I'd leave positive feedback but mention it, they may do this for everyone and make a small profit for themselves off the postage!0

I'd mention it to them as they may have completely forgotten (as I have done before) and offer you a few pence back through paypal (which you can then accept or decline). You can then leave them super-glowing feedback. If they ignore you/tell you to get lost then leave feedback based on that

It's happened to me before, sent an email to say I had paid for recorded, but obviously not sent via RD. Got an apology, and offer of £1 off any other item seller was selling. Didn't take him up on it and positive feedback left all round, just wanted him to be aware that he'd done it especially as it was from son's pocket money, I hoped it would make him feel guilty. Could have risked getting a negative I suppose, but stated son was delighted with item.0

Not sure how to word the email without sounding like I'm complaining though...any ideas?"There are no pockets in a shroud..."0

Hi,
with regards to recorded delivery then to me it would depend on the item. If it was a small item then he could have got "proof of postage" from the post office which would cover losses of up to £28. If the item was larger, i.e. a box rather than a small jiffy bag or worth more then I would complain to the seller as I would expect this sent special delivery if I'd paid the extra.
To be honest I tend to use proof of postage rather than the orange recorded delivery tickets because they cover the same amount and it is a lot easier to claim from just getting "proof of postage" than from actually sending it recorded because of limitations in the T&C's.
Hope this helps.

Bargainbabe - How about, 'thanks for the x which arrived today. I'm very pleased with the item, but I'm surprised that it was not sent recorded delivery as I paid for this service.' Then see how the seller responds.0

I think the point here is that bargainbabe has paid for a service she has not received. If the seller had stated that they would send it 1st class and get a COP in case anything goes wrong it would be a different matter0 -

Thank you Kirsty. I'm clued up with the ins and outs of the postage being a eBay seller myself. The point I was making was I had actually paid an extra 65p for recorded delivery and didn't receive that service..."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -
