    Good afternoon :D

I am in this week. Thanks for the lists Dusty.

Pigpen - I am glad your ceiling is fixed at last & you survived your weekend. Please promise that you won't be climbing up yourself to clean the tops of cupboards :o

We have been busy this weekend. Helped DD2 with her photography by taking her & our niece & nephew to the park (with DS, DH & dog) as she needed some natural shots of children. She needs to hand it all in today (well, should have been Friday :o) so she is stressing a bit.
Yesterday we tackled the garden (grass cut, few things planted & weeded). DH cut the dogs hair  then gave him a bath (with the help of DS) This is quite a task as the dog hates the groomer (& it is mutual!) but he was muzzled :p He was quite calm surprisingly - and it saved us £25 :j
I scrubbed the oven. It hadn't been done since before Christmas & was  I hate doing this as all the products say not for 'self-cleaning' ovens  I used my steam cleaner :)

DH & I have been at my mum's this morning. I took her to the garden centre/farm shop & dropped in on my 103 yo godmother as well :) DH sat with my SD. He is out of hospital now (has been for 3 1/2 weeks) but he is bed-ridden and (dare I say it) very needy. I am worried about the effect it s having on my mum, so we are visiting as much as possible. I should have gone to town to get some bits for DD2 as its her 18th on Friday!! I really need to get organised.

I have a quiet week work wise, so i should be able to catch up a bit. I will post my list to keep me motivated:

Someone who will remain nameless spilt a glass of red wine right in the middle of the sitting room carpet last night. I thought I'd got it all out but this morning it was still there. Today has been spent carpet washing. Again.

I know the feeling. My cream rug wasn't killed by the 3 dogs but by DH's red wine.

Anyway, today I managed to sort a kitchen drawer, clean the kitchen windowsill and cleaned the hob.

I had planned to do some gardening tonight but I'm too tired really so will do that in the morning before the paid stuff.
Spend less now, work less later.

The apple crumble was lovely although I will use less sugar next time but it wasn't too bad. We even have some left over for tomorrow. I have a feeling we will have some bread to use up soon so I am going to try a bread pudding like my mum used to make when I was a kid. Food waste is one of our biggest money wastes in the house so the more I can reuse the better. It helps that DH liked his dinner and the only thing I didn't make from scratch was the ice cream...one day I will try.

I always use eating apples for apple crumble (I always have them, & never buy cooking apples). I don't add any sugar as they don't need them :)

this afternoon I have washed up, wiped the work sufaces, wiped the hob, wiped the oven, put away 5 things in the kitchen, cleaned the sink, put on the DW & cooked dinner. Not too bad for me :o

Narco - didn't know you were an AGA buddy :D

Technically ours is a Stanley, which is aga-like but made in Ireland! Nobody has ever heard of them, so I just call it an aga.

Regarding VH garden centre sale, if I go at all it will be tomorrow lunch time-ish after the gym, as I don't work on Tuesdays. They keep having sales for members, so no problem - there will be another one next month.

I take it you just put the sugar in the topping then. I put some in with the apples when I broke them down in a pan but maybe I don't need to do that either?!? I really wish I had more of a background in the kitchen as I feel quite thick.
