  • Pigpen - OMG! Give your OH a thump in the chops for me please, will you? Next time, walk away. Just leave it. Let them get it even messier and then tell OH he can sort it.

Only just popped back indoors from the garden to snaffle some lunch and a cuppa. Boy it's hot this gardening lark. I've mowed, strimmed, raked, picked up grass and been on my knees re-discovering a weed overgrown patio. Bed has been stripped first thing so a white wash (bed protectors) are blowing. WM No. 2 (brights) just about to go out. Darks about to go in.

OH and Kids are emptying the cluttered barn into the back of my car so I can go to the dump whilst DS is at a Footie Tournament tomorrow in the big City. One of the kennels has been allocated as a bike store, another as a camping store. OH has just announced that he'd like to get THE LONG CORRIDOR cleared :j It really is an eyesore. I might even measure it for washing lines today. :T

Dinner has been decided - we're having a barbie. First one of the year WHOOPIE

I am so loving this weather and getting out in the garden ....

See you in a few more hours. HH or 2 gardening anyone?

    TMD xx

    Good afternoon :D

Just having a breather as I was up early & have been busy (makes a change :o)

    Today we have:
    • cleaned downstairs toilet & basin
    • emptied & refilled DW
    • walked dog (DH)
    • swept patio (DH)
    • got out BBQ (DH)
    • blown up balloons (DS)
    • tidied away childminding paperwork
    • put out a bag of recycling
    • swept/hoovered stairs
    • hoovered hallway
    • wiped down bannisters & woodwork
    • cleaned kitchen door
    • cleaned upstairs bathroom (DH) - although DD2 has been in there since so I need to re-check
    • cleaned back door (muddy paws prints!)
    • dealt with pile of old post in hallway :o
    • wrapped up mindee's birthday present (DH)
    • ordered stick insect eggs
    • dusted & polished LR & DR
    • sorted out boxes & vax to be taken to DD1's
I think that is it. DH & DS are on their way to pick up DD1 now (they should be there - someone should have text me)

I am going to make a cuppa, then tidy round in the kitchen & start preparing some salady bits for later. Family are coming round for DD2's birthday.

(((hugs)))Pigpen. Seriously - move that cereal! And kick that OH. I think he needs to take them both out for a very long walk to give you a break!!

Just back from my mums - where I cleared a pile of paperwork of her kitchen table and made her confront a few things:-

that she has 2 insurance packages for the central heating, electrics and plumbing and a 3rd for the boiler.

That she has 2 lots of separate insurance for the house

And 2 lots of insurance for her satellite equipment!

Me thinks she needs some help!

OH sent to B&Q.. He got about 1/4 of the way through the mincing and the mower exploded.. oh well!!! lol I have some tiles needed returning so he has taken those, and Squeak.. we've had her more than 45 days though so I doubt they'll take her back! Anyway.. he has HIS bank card and a shopping list... does everyone write a shopping list for B&Q?

    Dot in bed.

6 BINBAGS filed for charity shop... 2 dumped already.. DS3 doing the next ones but he is busy throwing a hissy fit... so I am finding him more jobs to do once he has done those :D He WILL start pulling his weight lazy little turd!
    2 binbags of rubbish filled
1 binbag of shoes for recycling
and half a binbag of recycling.. and a large cardboard box.

I am totally pee'd off and sick of everyone thinking I am the maid so they are all being bossed.. it is half term and if they (esp DS3) think they are spending the week in bed in their pjs they can very much think again!!!

    WM on
1.5 loads out on the line.. undies in TD waiting for the rest to come out of the WM before being turned on.

Something evil has just bit/stung me on my arm... *remembers why we don't go outside when it is sunshiny*

I am so very tired and miserable... I think I might just become a BD and have done!!!

  • I'm making slow progress today but never mind some progress is better than none. So far today I have fed all of the pets, got the first load of washing in wm, sorted through ironing pile and made a separate pile of clothes that are needed for next week (just need to face the iron board now), stripped all the beds, phoned my mum and opened all of the windows to let air in as it is a lovely sunny warm day.

I really need to try and find my motivation again, as it seems to have wandered off.

My next job is to make a list of food in the cupboards, fridge and freezer then make a meal plan for next week and a shopping list, this should take me an hour at least so at the same time I will also get some more of the washing done (now know what I need to get washed first as ds only has one pair of school trousers for next week).

    Hello

Remember me? :o Can I come back?........again? :o I'm a mess, work is a mess, and my house is a mess. All a bit overwhelming really, but I know, from past experience....s :(, that fly lady works for me.

I've already gained inspiration and motivation from you as I lurked earlier, and was then determined to have some flying to post before I poked my nose back round the flylady door.

    So, so far, I have:

    put laptop on charge
put eggs - age unknown- in bin
rinsed and recycled six cola cans
rewashed washing that has been moping in wash basket since I washed it at the beginning of the week
put small amount of cardboard in recycling bin
put wild bird food into WBF container & fed birds
put away groceries delivered on 16th May :o
put clean sheet and pillowcases on bed which I stripped in a moment of madness two weeks' ago and then didn't have the desire to remake
    hung out washing
    opened yesterday's post & binned/recycled it

and logged on to recharged lappy.

    And breathe ....

I do not want my house to turn into one of those featured on telly in 'the hoarder next door' type programmes; I already have CHAOS, but you can see the floor (well, some of it), and my H/S/L are totally clear.....ok I admit it's because the lightbulbs have blown in the hall and on the landing and I don't want to break my neck tripping over something in the dark, but clear is clear. yeah? :D

ETA oh, it posted itself before I was ready! Going to rinse and recycle the rest of the cola cans. Be back later xx

    Hi all

Piggers hope your aches and pains are easing now, sorry to hear that your lot were 'unhelpful'
Bossy your DD has gorgeous hair and an infectious smile
Valli glad you're on the mend

roundtuit has someone who has recently become a 'recovering hoarder' (nothing on the scale that is on the hoarder programmes but I was on a slippery slope and could have easily been like that within a couple of years ) I found great support on the hoarding thread. It helped me address the reasons for keeping 'stuff', some of it was down to not knowing what to do with some of the 'stuff', some of it was 'it's worth something' (was it heck! I've never been able to afford expensive items, I was putting far too much value on some 'stuff'), some of it was 'I might need it' (Justin Case). But the crux of it for me was accepting my life as it is now, not how I thought/wanted it to be. It's involved letting go of emotional ties to 'stuff' as well as letting go of chunks of my past that were holding me back.

It has been a very liberating & positive experience for me - it makes flying so much easier! I also have saved a lot of money as I'm not buying things for the sake of buying them (trying to fill an emotional hole).

Sorry I seem to have rambled, hope I made sense!

    Flying wise:

Bed stripped, bedding washed and out on the line
Went to town to buy paint for sun room (discovered that the mould covered wall was actually wallpaper)
    Been stripping said wallpaper
Yesterday evening I dusted BR and hettyed in there.

    To do:

    HHI
    Hetty mattress & landing
    Make bed
Get washing in off the line
    Clean shower
Remove more wallpaper from sun room.

    Deco x
