it could do if you have no interested or knowledge in the role and are happy to sit there and lie when they ask you 'why do you want this job' or 'why should we take you on' etc

Most successful inerviews are based on lies, in my experience.

You leave it in Feb 2014? You have been in since when?

Find a course with a job at the end? Is that how jobs are found these days? I find that odd.

Not really, in reality the training provider will have a relationship with employers and so when there are vacancies, they will help with the recruitment process by agreeing a course that gives candidates skills the employer is looking for.

It means the employer gets people with particular skills and the candidates get a guaranteed interview at a job where they may not have had a chance to on paper previously.

Referred to as Pre Employment Training or Sector Based Work Academies (horrible name). If done correctly it is of great benefit to the candidates and the employer.

Claire, if you really don't want to go on the course then tell your WP adviser. Explain that you dropped out before because you weren't comfortable with it and you didn't realise that this was the same thing. If she says "Tough, you have to do it" then you have to do it. Why are you stressing about what she'll say when you've not even broached the subject yet?

I have never heard of this and been on the WP since Aug 2011
