I feel sorry for the staff and concerned as an occasional passenger.

Knowing some crew I don't. My friends have moans about work like everyone, (non are safety related) but love their jobs and lifestyle.0 -

They always do seem rather miserable and stressed to me through. Only paid for time in the air? Forced unpaid leave? Unpaid oncall? £1,800 for a course? £360 for a uniform? That is what is being claimed.0 -

Pay for own training, correct - as many people do to get the job they want,
in this industry in particular. See below
http://www.prospects.ac.uk/airline_pilot_entry_requirements.htm
Pay for uniform, correct but 'After 12 Months: an EXTRA £250/€325 annual allowance for uniforms, ID's and Medicals'
Miserable - not the ones I know.
Maybe you want to join them

This report gives a similar insight into how Ryanair treats its crew:
Ryanair’s Business Model 2011 - A peek into the airline’s recipe for success
Jump to page 22 regarding crew.
There's also an interesting explanation on page 21 about flying with only just enough fuel which results in more frequent maydays requesting priority landing at airports. Of course this causes Ryanair to jump the queue for landing whereby other airlines arrive later so that Ryanair can land on time.0 -
Another interesting site, apparently created by disgruntled Ryanair crew:

And of course all the other airlines cabin crew and pilots are happier,
maybe that's why they keep going on strike!

Typical media hype, they are told very clearly upfront the conditions and expectations.
As for the fuel issue, RUBBISH. The captains can load as much fuel as they need for a safe flight. If more than a certain amount over a safe calculated amount they have to state why in the logbook.0 -

I suppose it depends on who is setting the limit of a safe calculated amount? If it is the Captain's decision then why should there be any other limit and therefore any recourse that can be taken against if exceeded, even by a certain amount?0 -
A read of this report may be of value
http://www.ryanair.com/doc/news/2012/iaa_report_valencia_EN.pdf
it explains the fuel policy (towards the bottom of page 4) shows that in the events described all the aircraft carried additional fuel.0 -
You are very much Wrong..Ryanair exploit for Profit, they tel;l lies to new recruits, only after payment of training and start work, then it is to late..so please don't write what you do not know unless your working for Ryanair who employ people to talk on forums..
As it is I do not work for them, never have, never will but do know some of their crew who tell a different story
They don't get it right all the time, often down to local managers and contractors, as they found out when I nearly got them prosecuted. That manager did not last long after that!0
