So what you're saying is all pound shops have dodgy sources of electrical goods from China. An intriguing claim, yet no evidence, and almost certainly libellous.
"None of them"
Every electrical product they sell?
"are made to British standards"
Which standards? Are you claiming they don't meet the legal requirements, or just the standards one would expect from a product?
"have certification"
What certification do they lack? Again, do they fail to meet a legal requirement, or are they just missing their cycling proficiency?
"or indeed been tested."
What sort of testing? Individual product testing or generic quality control?
"More fool you for buying electrical rubbish from Poundland."
The OP didn't actually buy the product.
I know what they sell (not certified electricals) and you are annoyed of that.
You are obviously a poundland checkout girl0 -

The only electrical's I have seen in PL are gang sockets or battery/usb powered items all I seem to recall have CE markings that no doubt will be called fake soon.
And again no doubt that BB will resort to false claims and derision in the usual manner, but there you go classic Trolling.0 -

You know nothing.
I know for a fact that them gang sockets melt, because they are not made to British or European standard, go ahead use them, I have simply offered my knowledge.
You can beleive what you like and try and belittle me, but it dosent bother me, its entertaining to watch how annoyed some individuals get because they think they know better.
More fool you.
I will say no more on the subject and I will not read any response to this here comment.0 -

Not to put a too finer point on how crap the whole CE markings are...
But at a previous company I worked for we were supplied products that were supposed to be CE quality approved.
What the CE marking applied too was the box the product came in and not the product :rotfl:
We were also CE approved.
All it meant was someone sat down wrote a list of procedures on what we did and hey presto CE certified :rotfl:
As to the quality of the extentions from poundland.... my laptop is working fine on one and has been for the last year.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

No, I am not annoyed at anything, I am simply asking you to clarify your outlandish claims.
So far you have claimed that all electricals from pound shops are from the "back doors" of Chinese factories, aren't to British standards, are uncertified, are untested, and are dangerously unsafe.
While I have no doubt that in many cases the quality is commensurate with the price, I would merely like you to provide some support for your points.
Of course, if you are correct, it is your civic duty to report these flagrant breaches of the law to the relevant authorities before someone else is killed. Lets face it, with so much unsafe equipment being sold it must be killing dozens of people a day. Let us know how you get on.0 -

If the allegation is that Poundland are willfully selling items which may cause damage or harm, and do not meet the legal standards, then you should report them. I would be very surprised if Poundland would even risk selling such an item, the legal implications could be potentially serious.
If the allegation that some rather more dodgy pound shops sell items which are illegally imported, then that's no doubt entirely true, I've seen numerous reports from trading standards about recalls of items they've found in shops around here in London.0
