Faulty goods, Poundland, not believed!

All sales in a shop should be considered final, except for any returns policy the particular store may have.
From what you have said, it appears that this store will refund/exchange upto seven days after sale, but remember this policy is only for non-faulty goods.
There is no time limit (well there is... six years) for faulty goods.
So for the one set of headphones that still work you have no claim for a refund... even though you have lost confidence.
For the two sets of faulty headphones, now that the shop have denied they are faulty, you will need to prove that they are actually faulty. That may be as simple as demonstrating the fault, but it seems as though the staff are deaf too.
You may need to involve their head office, but is it worth it for £2?0 -
I know it seems pedantic but I do really think they shouldn't be treating people like this. I'm an educated, experienced adult but there are plenty of more vulnerable people out there and we have regulations in place to protect everyone.
I've tried filling out their "customer feedback" form but it will not submit, handy, eh?0 -
If 2 sets failed in the same way, but only on your daughter's player, not in-store when they tested them, could it be a dodgy socket on your daughter's player?0

paddyrg you make a good point but in this case the player has always worked, before and after, with other earphones. I imagine there is a loose connection inside the earphones, possibly easily rectified, I may well end up having a look.0

Any reason why you allowed her to buy three pairs of this junk?0 -
£1 earphones. The shop assistant try's them out and they work fine.
Why should they refund if they're not faulty? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Wow, you get quite a lot of trolls on here, don't you? Shame but I guess you just have to skip past them?0

I think the problem is that you are stating the staff were disbelieving you. Which is in fact harsh as they checked the headphones themselves and found no issue. They could not do much more.
I suspect your attitude counted against you as you appear to have an unpleasant demeanour (based on the fact everyone who disagree with you appears to be a troll)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I have around half a dozen sets of these earphones from £land.. I walk a lot so there's a set in different raincoats and hoodies etc
Sometimes one ear works, sometimes 2 ears work.. Maybe this is what's happening when the assistant is trying them.. She is just striking lucky
I wouldn't dream of taking any of them back, you get what you pay for!0
