There are at least 2 of them in my tiny town, and they are guitar shops rather than instrument shops. I couldn't get my son's trumpet fixed within an hour's train journey of my town, and I don't think you'd be able to get any instrument other than a guitar here, although cash converters sometimes has a violin or trumpet.
The guitar shops are social venues for the teenagers who like rick music. I think they might actually be the only independent shops in this indentikit town centre.52% tight0 -
My phone does not even have a camera on it, It does have a torch which surprisingly I do use quite often.Owing on CC £00.00 :j

Don't you just love these people
I drive a wagon for a living and it gives me great pleasure scaring the S*** out of them, as they start crossing the road then realise a wagon is yards away from themOwing on CC £00.00 :j

Kind of gives 'Social Media' a whole new slant...
Yes, it's 'antisocial' media really
I know somebody who is always checking her phone. It's so rude, and makes all visitors feel unwelcome (and it's not just that she finds me boring, because other people have complained about how they feel when she does it to them).
If you're not more interested in the person you are sitting with, why invite them over? Why leave the house at all, if facebook is more interesting than the people you've come out to socialise with?
Not all smartphone users are addicts though. Lots of my friends are interested in gadgets and technology, and it's really useful to have a diary, torch, book, map etc. included in your pocket sized phone. What you don't need though, is constant access to your emails, facebook, twitter etc. unless it's an emergency situation where you desperately need up to date information, or you are sat on a train journey with spare time.
I'm not really interested in technology, and was the last person I knew to get a mobile phone. I only got a smartphone when my old phone had broken and there was a tariff including a smartphone for less than I was currently paying. I can see the usefulness of it, and my husband sometimes needs to access his work emails when he's not in work, but I don't need email or facebook on it, so I haven't set them up.
I find the calendar, shopping list, etc. really useful but I don't have facebook or email on my phone, so I'll never be tempted to turn into an addict like the person who makes me feel awful when she's ignoring me in favour of her screen.
I am on facebook and MSE pretty much every day if I'm at home, but I don't want to take it everywhere with me. It's horrible seeing toddlers on the bus desperately trying to get mum's attention away from her phone, and she probably doesn't even realise how blank she looks.
OP could you just remove facebook, twitter and email from your phone? Or are there things that won't keep? Could those people text you instead if there's something vital?52% tight0 -

I have removed the FB app and can't really use it at all now as it won't work in the browser for some reason.
I rarely use twitter so that's not an issue at all for me. I don't really get it and think it's better to keep it that way!
I could actually get rid of emails though as it's Gmail and I could just access it through the browser if I had to.
Emails are useful when I've booked something though, as I don't print off the confirmation unless it says I have to....
They do have their uses, don't they? It's just when they take over that it's not good and that's what I could see happening to me.
I'm going to switch off mobile data anyway and I think I'll get a cheap alarm clock and leave it downstairs at night.
Just thought, I also use it to watch films on Netflix while doing a sleep in at work and for audio books. I use Google maps all the time too.
Arrrgggghhhh! They are handy little things! :rotfl:0 -

Actually, since posting, I do have a dim memory of visiting a shop in Coventry that sold guitars back in the 1980's. It was in White Friars Street.0 -
I did of course mean 'rock' music
I think rick's gone back out of fashion
