Don't confuse my attitude to things I cannot control to my grasp of those that I do. My solicitor and my EA are on a short leash.

    In your words...

I'm not responding to all the things I have to as quickly as I can, but I'm not going to go from laid back to intense until the situation becomes fixed and those contracts are exchanged.

What do you mean? If you don’t understand the pressure you would be under having offered on a property but having no buyer means, then perhaps you need to visit the local library to obtain an idiots guide to selling and buying a house

I agree with what you say as in what will be will be , BUT my point was , your rather blaze attitude to your buyer , if that was to translate in any meaningful way to them , could cause you issues you haven’t accounted for
Sorry, I should have said "anything that has not already been raised on this thread and that I've responded to." my apologies. If you've got something new to bring to the discussion then I think we'd all very much appreciate the chance to read it. Otherwise you just seem to have an issue with my "attitude" which I can't really help as that's just the way I am.

The OP posted the very words i quoted

Because his options other than "the sale will have to drag on" are what? Stamp his feet and scream very loud and then it all works out as he and his buyer want? Who is helped by him not being "happy to let it drag on"? Would you prefer somehow that he is ruined, a broken man, left to wander the streets and lament of that time he tried to buy a house with tenants in it? Not really seeing how that helps his buyer either, but may provide satisfaction to the crowd.

I agree with you that he seems calmer about it than it possibly warrants, and I do think he has been seizing on any rationale at all to convince himself that it will all be okay, it's just that I feel there is little evidence to suggest he is being unfair to anyone else. You're grabbing one comment from six pages of posts and damning him with it.

He has already said he is happy to do things `not as quickly as he should` ?

It`s not a case of bashing him for something 6 pages ago , its a point of view that he appears very lax with things that ARE within his control

If anything my buyer is messing me around. I've responded to every query from his solicitors straight away, he's taking days to come back on mine. You are presuming that he wants this to go through quickly and I am the one holding everything up. Not the case. I'm sandwiched between two people over whom I have very little control.

However, instead of getting all upset about it I'm being philosophical and making the most of the situation. If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If the process drags on, save some money. If the the sale of my flat falls through, I'll put it on the market and see if I can get more money for it.

I've had a few people say things like "I hope the sale falls through" and suchlike. Well, fair enough. This is the internet and I expect people to be nasty so give it your best shot. I'm quite a pessimist at heart and expect things to go catastrophically wrong so if it just goes badly I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Much appreciated, and I don't know who said it, but it was posted a few pages back. Feel free to read the entire thread, it's gotten a bit personal at times. Doesn't bother me. I'm not here to win any popularity contests, nor am I trying to get on anyone's nerves! I'm here to get as much useful information I can about the process I'm going through in selling my flat and buying a new house. I'm also trying to share any information I get so people can see what I'm being told.
