havent been into work for a couple of weeks but they were both £9.99 in orange retail, have to top up £10 still unless you already have an orange number (if you have a free orange sim somewhere register it and 'upgrade' that number = no topup)

I love my antique (and robust) Nokia phone with its T-Mobile PAYG connection.

So please - has anyone got any ideas or suggestions or experience to share on cheap tri-band PAYG phones?

I tried to buy a Sim for an unlocked Motorola in USA BUT they wanted $75.00 with no airtime
So I went to Walmart and bought a cheap$30.00 phone ( £15.00 ish )with 300 minutes any network , they only lasted one month though so it depends on how often you travel to the USA whether it is worth trying it out.
We bought that cos we needed to phone our son/family within the USA
I am not sure if it was usable for international calls and as I left it there for our grandson to use the remaining minutes I cant remember which make it was. Not a normal UK brand I think!
Not sure this is any help to you.
    sorry
but thought I would tell everyone anyway!

also worth asking on your local Freecycle group for phones, we do get them offered

I have just bought a Tesco Mobile Nokia 1112 PAYG phone, on line (via Quidco) for £24.97 with a free £10 airtime voucher and free delivery - not forgetting the £6 back from Quidco. So the phone actually cost me £8.97 - Bargain!

    Cheers Martin

Oh yes, forgot to mention 24 Clubcard points as well.

I didn't like the look of the Orange Alkatel so checked with Virgin from whom I had bought my previous (SENDO) which I lost.

    Offerred me a Nokia 1112 @ £9.99 + pp of £2.99 and
    200 free minutes (£24) !

so I bit their hand off and had the phone the next day.

and I make that a FREE phone. :T

Nokia 1112 with a sim loaded with £30 credit on Tesco Mobile is available for £30 - meaning the phone is free.
If you use the Tesco Mobile link through Quidco and then paste the link below you can get the £6 cashback too.

If you use the link below to Tesco Direct, you can get 2 Nokia phones for an extra £9.97.

    Link Here

This is what I posted on the "Quick Grabbit" board yesterday:
You can get both the 1112 and 2610 Nokia phones + £30 Airtime voucher, all for a grand total of £39.97!

Just add both phones to your basket, proceed to checkout and then add the airtime voucher and you will end up with a total including savings of £39.97.

This offer expires at 10am today!

Looking at the Tarriffs, on the Tesco nokia 1112 deal free phone and £30 credit ...if I am correct it looks as if a Call from Spain is 40p so it might be worth considering as a phone to take on holiday. I think other networks charge up to twice this for international roaming. So a spare phone and cheap holiday calls make this look more attractive .. or have i missed something

which of the mobile phone provider has the longest "inactive" period? "inactive" period meaning i only want to receive calls, sms and mms. i will only make a phone call or sms to keep the number "active".

also, buying these PAYG, do i get roaming immediately? again, i only want to receive sms/mms during roaming.
