  • http://wonderthrift.com/ is new, but is shaping up to be quite good :) Her previous blog was http://lulastic.co.uk/ which also has thrifty tips but you have to go a few months back to start finding those.

    Also http://mortgagefreeinthree.com/ and http://agirlcalledjack.com/ :money:

365 days - 365 pounds is good - I like her other blog Our New Life in the Country, too. Oooh - and Shoestring Cottage and Frugal in Suffolk. A Thrifty Mrs is a fun read - and has a recipe on there for GORGEOUS mega chocolate cookies, too! :D

thank you - I'm very pleased I asked now :)

OP made of £15.90 - couldn't resist not doing one as I'm on a roll this week.

Meter readings submitted for gas and elec. We are as of today £77.16 in credit which I'm pleased with as we have been in a lot over christmas.
Still want to bring it down though, but its nice to know we have a buffer ready for the cold weather which I'm sure will arrive at some point.

This year I really want to spend more time and money (unfortunately) on the house. We have some biggish jobs (time and money wise) and some small ones. The bigger jobs could really do with coming higher up the list, but with them requiring more time (ie dh time mainly!) I'm going to be reasonable in my ordering and listing!
First step was a paint sample today for the bathroom. Just put a sploge on and it works. So I think I'll put the bathroom first......its also a fairly 'cheap' job as the tiles are all good still (although I know dh wants to replace a cracked one on the floor).
Off to google those blogs - thank you.

Well, today I have done more research and I'm feeling very enlightened!

Our mortgage is due for renewal in a few months so I thought I'd look at what is available (although I know it could all have changed by then) and it looks as though I can shave off a few years when we renew...I've never looked at snowballing before, but now it makes my mf dream seem much more achievable! If i've done my very rough sums correct and at each renewal I can shave off a year or two my 19 mortgage could be paid off a lot sooner than I actually anticipated. Although, alot can happen in those times but even so it has inspired me more to cut back in every little way to help put those pennies to the mortgage....off to see if can do another tt!!!

    Hi mouche

All good here thank you for asking. We have been rather busy. Away for a night for dd1 birthday (she had a fab time) and the usual washing ironing (i'm right there with you mouche on disliking it!) and general cleaning....never ending.
Few tt op'd and the figure is coming down very slowly but it is coming down.

Small TT op of £1.15 today - balance is approx. £69,490.00
This is based on my figures from the statement in Nov, so is probably wrong but I find it motivates me to have figures even if they are just approximates :)

Pouring with rain today so will be a NSD. Did a small shop yesterday but forgot more squash so will have to pop out and get that at some point over the weekend.
