Edit: I have nothing in my PayPal accout, so she cannot get back any money, unless I give it to her presumably?
Sorry - paypal can refund her the money (should she log a dispute) and make your account into a negative balance before sending it out to a debt collection agency if you don't pay them what you 'owe' them. They did that with me about 6mths ago but luckily it was for a relatively small amount.0 -
PayPal can still take the money from your account even if there is nothing in it. It will just go to a negative balance and then you would have to transfer money back in to clear it or they will pass it on to debt collectors.
Its best to send it special delivery even if it costs quite a bit because if you send it recorded and it gets lost your only covered for £34. If you send it special delivery your covered for the full value of the item.0 -
I will send the phone special delivery (if it's not too expensive, if so recorded).
The only problem with that is that the phone WILL NOT BE INSURED if it goes missing in the post. Recorded only covers you up to £34. Recorded post is just bunged in the post with all the standard mail. Recorded appears to have a high loss rate.
Special is more expensive, but is treated carefully, delivered quickly, processed separately to the standard mail, tracked from start to finish, and insures you for a lot more.

This is starting to worry me. If she needed it in a hurry, she could've done a bank transfer, or even sent postal orders by Special Delivery or something. But she made you accept Paypal, which you don't normally do. It just seems to me that she's hoping you're a newbie and don't know anything about how paypal works. And thus can be easily conned.
Definitely wait a few days, to see if paypal try to take the money off you.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

but if the payapl address is confirmed that means they have it linked to their bank account or credit card, if they do say they havent got it or say it was fraudulently purchased, you have seller protection and proof that you sent it and who it was signed for by,if by the buyer then surely they wont get anything back?!?0

lol, I'm now more confused than ever. Fay, I am going to send it Special!! I have made my mind up!!
The excuse she used for having to use PayPal, was that all her money was in her PayPal account, and she didn't have enough in her normal account.
Her address is confirmed, so I presume I will be ok sending it, as I will have proof I would have sent it, along with photos of it's condition just before I sent it.0 -

You don't have seller protection unless it says 'Seller protection' on the transaction. Confirmed address isn't the whole story.
Sorry, I feel like I'm being a total anti-paypal doomwarder today, but people keep posting 'surely they wouldn't do that....?' and 'surely it's ok if...?' and unfortunately I have to set the record straight!
There are many thousands of successful PP transactions though, believe it or not!

Xzibit, it does sound like you should be ok - what you've just posted backs up my 'cleared funds' theory - which means a credit card chargeback is out of the question. (This is a good thing!)
So long as the phone arrives, you're laughing!

Ok thanks. I will pop across the road in an hour or so and post if off. I'm going to send the girl an email now letting her know it's coming special delivery and will need to be signed for. :j0 -
 Just one thing I have noticed on her ebay feedback, she bought a E900 DUMMY phone on the same day as buying mine.

Umm your phone isn't an E900 is it?
Although if she wanted to pull that scam she could just open an item not as described dispute and send you back a brick.
But the fact that you didn't get charged by paypal for recieving the payment means that it was funded from a paypal balance - rather than a CC or DD card which you wouldn't have been able to except without upgrading your paypal account.
So at least there's no chance of a CC chargeback.0
