I've just had a rather large scratch that covered 2 panels sanded out, filled and resprayed for £160 x Wouldn't be much compared to what my dad has done for me over the years. I wouldn't have been able to afford to drive when I was younger if I had to take my car to the garage instead of my dad fixing it for me.

They are all being fairly harsh with you.
I bought my first brand new car, and offered my Dad a shot on the way home. He promptly drove into a car doing a three point turn. I let the insurance sort it out , but he paid the excess.
    How about some T Cut.

Thanks for all your comments. As usual there are some people on this site who are just determined to be rude.

I understand what everyone is saying about not bringing it up but I scrimped and saved for years working seven days a week to buy that car. I don't know anyone else my age who drives a sports car and its my pride and joy. Before anyone says anything I bought and paid for it all by myself. Just because I study law doesn't mean I come from an amazingly rich family and doesn't mean you can judge me. I probably can't afford to fix it right now because I'm desperately trying to save to move out.

Everyone seems to be extolling the virtues of having an amazing relationship but thats never going to happen because of things that happened in the past. I'm hoping he will man up and fix his mistake when I find out how much its going to cost. I know I would be taking the knock if I had done this to him.

So why are you saving to 'move out' then?
No need for the insults, but fire away if it makes you feel better

I've moved back in now term is over. In any event just because you are staying in someone's house doesn't give them licence to damage your stuff.
