I have submitted my first meter reading yesterday. This is really a no frills company, I only received a few emails from them so far, I even sent them the contract electronically. They don't have online management system either, just a simple meter submission form. But I don't really mind -- why would I need to pay for all those fancy booklets, online labyrinths systems and phone operators? Email is the most relaxed way to deal with non-emergencies, but even then it's often the fastest as you don't have to sit on line for hour, and it's also least expensive for both supplier and client, and last but by no means least it's the most precise way too, and then you also get to keep the correspondence for the future reference. Or well, it's all that as long as it gets replied to (which has always been problem with the other, phone-service oriented companies).
Now I asked Daligas move my DD date closer to the others and they did and send me the new payment plan in a couple of hours. So far so good.0 -
I have been following this and other related forums for more than 1 year now and I decided to register because I felt I had to tell my experience with Daligas.
I have been with them since April 2013 ( one of the first customers I guess, switched through a comparison site) and their behaviour has been absolutely perfect. I have saved more than 150 pounds switching to their variable tariff and now they offered to switch me to their even cheaper fixed rate. So far so good .
Do you work for Daligas?0 -
I have just switched from E-ON to Daligas. The switch appears to have gone smoothly, all my emails have been answered fairly quickly, and my dd is £20/mth less than it was with e-on.
Hoping all goes well!0 -
Do not use the on-line form as the default links do not use HTTPS
you should never send bank details un encrypted0 -
I have just switched to Daligas and found the process very straightforward.
However I have become aware of an issue that affects all gas suppliers and Daligas in particular.
Because Daligas apply their charges annually per annual fixed contract then how do they apply the correct Calorific Value?
The Calorific Value is variable, and is part of the formula used to convert the cubic metres of gas that you actually use to the Kilowatt Hours that you are charged for.
Presumably they charge you using the Calorific Value as it is at the end of the year when they calculate your end of contract settlement bill.
This Calorific Value that they use could be higher or lower than the Calorific Value of the gas that you actually used. This could lead to serious mis-charging.
Maybe they apply an average Calorific Value calculated for the previous year. This also may lead to mis-charging since most people use most of their gas during the winter. An annual average value where, for example, the summer Calorific Value is much higher than the winter one would lead to a higher charge than it would be if the actual Calorific Values had been used.0 -
I switched from Scottish Power to Daligas on the 31/12. However Scot Power now say they haven't received the final reading from Daligas so I'm paying two companies for the same gas usage. I rang Daligas but the woman said they have no way to resend the reading, I hope that is wrong information, I have now emailed Daligas so I'll see if they sort it out.
Never had this problem before.0 -

Never had this problem before.
The government say they want to make it easier to change companies, it's certainly a pain when things go wrong.0 -
I switched to Daligas back in November after years of loyalty to BG. I've not had any problems so far.0

I changed from Scottish power to Daligas and everything has gone very smoothly so far. I can't remember the figures just now but I think I should be saving nearly £150 pa.
Daligas only provide gas and I think that if most consumers looked at dealing with their gas and electricity supply separately they would get much better deals than going for dual-fuel "deals". I was with Scottish Power on a dual fuel deal and changing to Daligas allowed me to change to a 100% green tariff for my electricity with it still costing bless than my Scottish Power deal.
Going green is a matter of choice and if Daligas start using fracked gas I shall probably go elsewhere. As for the telephone service I have to say that it is so good for the phone to be answered by a real person on a clear phone line and whose accent I can understand.
Well done Daligas!0 -
I switched from EDF in April and all is going swimmingly so far.
The no-frills website and email-based sign-up process make it clear they are a shoestring outfit, but if that's how they save the money that they pass on in cheap gas prices then it's fine by me!
I also switched to iSupply for my leaky, and had an equally smooth journey with them (so far…)0
