It is still considered a faux pas. I would look for something else.0

A cream dress to a wedding is generally a no go. I'd avoid it, particularly as you don't know the bride. Even wearing coloured accessories, the dress is still cream. The bride could be wearing a short dress and this may upset her. Better to be safe than sorry!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/14

Nope, nope and nope.
If it was your own family and you could sort it out with the bride then maybe, just maybe you could get away with it. But for your boyfriend's family, NO WAY! They might say it's ok and not mean it...and you won't know til it comes up in a drunken argument at your daughter's wedding
My mum still hasn't forgiven my dad's sister for doing this and it's 45 years ago

Don't do it. Never wear white, black or cream to a wedding unless you are the bride (cream or white) or the groom's bit on the side (black).
I did once go to a wedding where the groom's bit on the side wore black. She also did the bride's makeup and made her look like a clown! I think subtlety was as much her skill as keeping her legs closed.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Why did nobody tell the poor bride she was being cheated on? No way could I have played along at that wedding.
I think black's actually ok these days, as long as the outfit doesn't have a veil...0 -
my colleague is mother of the bride, and her outfit is black - with everyone's blessing (and she does approve of the marriage

She refused to hear it so what can you do? He left her by telling her they were moving house and then legging it with the removal can while she sat on the doorstep of what she thought was her new home.
Funnily enough I had never liked him but she wouldn't hear a word agsinst him.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

I wouldn't personally wear cream to someone's wedding. Couldn't bear to think what the bride would think especially if I'd never met her.
Try asos.co.uk. some really nice dresses on there

This struck a chord. Apparently Katherine Jenkins got a lot of bad publicity for wearing a cream dress to her sister's wedding. I met someone the other day (;):D) who'd actually been at the wedding and he said it had a pinkish tinge BUT I think you're mum's right. There obviously is an issue about his sort of thing. It wouldn't be the end of the world but better if you could find a different dress.0

I think it's a no-no. I went to a wedding where someone who didn't approve was wearing an all-white outfit and on the photos she looks like she was marrying the groom (who just happened to be her father :rotfl:)
I think if you don't know the bride then it's better to err on the side of cautionFinal cigarette smoked 02/01/18
