Your phone isn't blocked - but SIM locked.
Only if it was supplied directly by Orange that very often isn't the case.

An iphone on contract will be sim locked to the contract network no matter who sold it, the only way to get an unlocked one is to buy simfree from Apple.

Yes, but the OP has not said that her phone was iPhone. It's her ex that has iPhone.

Nonsense. A contract iPhone automatically locks to the first network SIM that is inserted. So, whilst CW can supply an iPhone that will take any SIM, this only happens ONCE. Ones supplied by Orange are already configured.

Well, quote the OP then where she said that her phone was iPhone - and I will stand corrected. Otherwise it will be you.

I need it to on O2 as I now have a contract to pay for on 02 that he won't take on as I won't pay for it to be used by him, so to spite me he has sim locked mine that was in his name even thought paid for it, it was only like tis so he could upgrade sooner, they are both iPhones, his a 5 mine a 4, he is just being spiteful unfortunately and there is nothing I can do!

I don't believe any network (or Apple) has a procedure for imposing a SIM-lock other than before or at the time of purchase. I therefore very much doubt that your ex has had your iPhone SIM-locked.

I think she has confused a few things, and means the ex has blocked the sim.
