Thanks Piggers as you say nothing to loose so I will give it a go.

I'm in a pure pickle now just been told the bouncy castle I've hired for my nephews first communion tomorrow is double booked so I'm freaking out. This day just get better. Phone will be glued to my ear now for ages trying for another but doubt it at this late stage.

Ring your mum to see if she's got a back up copy then go back to looking.
Any chance that there are 2 DVD's in 1 case?

Bossy & ShortBird I have to put a call into EX MIL for similar reason. My wedding video was always under the TV, and we had a tradition of watching it on our wedding anniversary. But it hasn't been watched since the EX left, but DS got himself upset last night as he said he was forgetting what Grandad and Grandad voices sound like.

I had a quick look for it so I could show it to DS so he could see them both when they were here, but couldn't find it.

I will ask DD2 if she "misplaced it on purposes" as she refused to see or speak to the EX for a good 6 months after he left, and there is a very good chance she filed in under B1N.

But other than I have to hope than the EX MIL didn't B1N her copy to appease the EX's girlfriend at the time (all of the wedding photos were taken down and my face cut off family group photos and/or edited off, resized and printed as the girlfriend refused to go into EX MIL LR until this was done ), as my Mum and sister will not know where there copy is, without sitting and watching through every old VHS tape in their house (nothing is ever labelled and never goes back in a case, unless it was my Dad using his Camcorder for a wedding or something similar).

If EX-MIL has it, I think I will ask EX to put it onto DVD, and also create a digital file of the vows and the photos being taken outside, so I can put it on my Ancestry and also email a copy to my Dad's siblings so they have something too.

I hate things going missing, I currently have too much stuff amongst the missing once I get this house back to some sort of normality I will make a list of all the things I need to find

Right time to catch up with Fred with cuppa before I report [STRIKE]sitting on my behind[/STRIKE] what flying has been achieved today :D

1 bouncy castle located thank goodness I'd have never forgiven myself. The wean is so looking forward to it.
Also located 2 blazers and a pair of school trousers courtesy of sister in law. Nephew has now left school so no longer needs his so panic off and I will still white spirit the paint ones and see what happens. Definitely knitting and tv now!

if it is unwearable you have nothing to lose... turps substitute and a microfibre cloth or a sponge and dab.. do NOT rub it!! handwash then leave outside to air dry ...

if it is unwearable and nothing to lose, you could try putting kitchen paper on the ironing board and another piece over the top of the paint before ironing it thereby trying to melt the worst off before trying the turps

    Evening!

Kiddies are (hopefully) asleep at gran's. I decluttered a few £s on my way home on a new top for the party tomorrow ;) I'm also a tad annoyed with myself as I have snaffled too much choc tonight and now I feel a bit ick. And I've been so good lately!

Now watching a DVD and planning an early night.

Tomorrow morning I need to remove the clematis-bound trellis from the fence as next door are having a new fence next week. Might pop up to b&m too and see if I can get something to cover the BBQ and something to stand the trellis up against (other than their new fence ;))

Then I'll get myself packed up and off!

I've given up looking for the DVD and will copy and back up my mums. As you say, it will most likely show up when I'm not looking...

    Have a great weekend, ladies.

i got gloss paint off a curtain once by rubbing with the green part of a pan scourer dipped in neat fabric conditioner - dont ask me why or how but it worked and removed every trace. it was something i found by googling.

    hope all are well.

Right, not much actually off the list per se, but some frogs have been munched

Rang Children's Team to find out what was happening with HV (appointment was 12 oc Thursday and got a phone call just before 12 to say she was running behind and would see me later in afternoon). Apparently I was supposed to get a second phone call to say she wasn't able to make it at all and to rebook for next week. I was a bit miffed as BD has had me decluttering my innards since Tuesday, so I asked to avoid next week as I will be turning in small circles having strangers in to fit carpets, I can't be left vulnerable from HV or Big Black Cloud appointments next week so told them to leave HV team to the week after.

Spoke to one of the other local libraries to renew DS library books as they are overdue, saves me going tomorrow morning with only a narrow window of opportunity to get them done, so pleased about that (no fines as on a kiddies ticket :money:)

Rang EX-MIL, she says she has my old wedding video somewhere, if she can find it quickly she will send it with the EX when he comes to visit the young Skints tomorrow, or she will bring it down herself when she comes down next. Quite pleased and excited to see DS reaction to the video when I can show it to him :D

Finally finished the glossing in the DR, well I say finished, I have not done my best work on the doors, but at least they can be taken off at a later date, lightly sanded and a fresh coat applied.....maybe that will be in a few years when DD4 is at nursery and I can do it with a clear head without being interrupted every 10 seconds.

I can't believe it was 4th MARCH that I burnt my arm while trying to get the first layer of paint up :eek::eek::eek: and we have been eating in LR ever since.....I think my DS will have forgotten what a dining table is for :rotfl:

Tomorrow I hope to get some more help from DD3 to help get her portion of Mt Foldmore away in her wardrobes, and some help with the younger Skints before the EX arrives so I can really get study walls washed and panel pins removed ready for polyfilla and painting asap.....then give attention to some proper flying while waiting for paint to dry (too busy to sit and watch paint dry ;))

Right time to search for some dead ancestors if I can before DD4 starts howling for Daisy mode

TTFN  hugs, stick and spoons in the jar....please dive in and help yourselves

Morning all. The dogs decided they were sleeping in DDs room last night as she had a rare night at home, so this morning they all had a lie in while I had an hours peace and quiet. I've cleaned and sorted the fridge, had a couple of cuppas and spent some time on here.

Dogs are now fed and medicated and the plan is to finish doing meal plan for next week, wash up, hoover, walk dogs and do quick weekly shop.

Its another lovely day so I'm planning to cut the grass again. I may even buy some plants for some empty pots today.

    Have a great day everyone.
Spend less now, work less later.
  • Morning

Woken up with a blinding headache and just trying to motivate myself to take DS to football. It's wet and wild here so hoping the game is cancelled. I'm checking hotmail like a woman with OCD waiting for a cancellation notification.

No hot water as the element has gone on the hot water tank. Letting Agents sent an electrician to check it out yesterday, who then said it needed a plumber. Plumber arrived and declared it dead and decommissioned it and put it outside on the drive. Landlord/Letting Agent won't be impressed as it was only last month that they agreed to outside structural maintenance on the property which is underway at the moment.

Our Landlord wasn't impressed that he had to put in a new range cooker last Christmas at a cost of almost a grand. The last tenant did beggar all to the property and they said this time around they wanted someone "to love it" which we have done. If the Landlord had put his hand in his pocket all along with general maintenance, he wouldn't be in this position now of everything conking out at the same time. Silly tightwad!

Right. Must. Move. Butt. Aim is to get ready and clear floordrobe in my room before I leave.

    Have a lovely day folks.

Mrs MP - it's amazing what tips we learn - who'd have thought a green scourer and fabric conditioner would remove gloss. Must remember that one as OH is a Painter and Decorator!
