Have been out to cinema for first time in years to see Star Trek into darkness, EX came to help with kids (2.5hr film) DS promptly fell asleep 5 minutes in, and EX was pacing up and down with DD4 in the gangway after she had a quick 30 minute cat-nap.
Daft sausage that I am, I managed to ball my eyes out not once but twicebut that said I can still recommend the film
Back home now, and while EX plays with DS who is now full of the joys of spring I might have a set to washing the walls down in the study
Right cuppa, Fred, Walls - I must get off my behind and get moving :rotfl:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
DH has been sanding the floor for most of the day and I thi k that will be he case tomorrow too - looking good though.
I went to buy the oil for the floor in the next town; took DS3 with me, popped into the Mr A in that town for vinegar and catfood and ended up buying DS3 4 Tshirts, a hoodie, 2 shorts and 2 swimmers - he is well pleased and that should do him for most of the summer now apart from a pair of trainers.
2xWM and have tidied and wiped the kitchen work surfaces and prepared and frozen most of the leeks from the garden. Must dig the last few up tomorrow.
Bit or ironing next, if I can find a space big enough to get the board up.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
All the mini beasts in bed.. my house is so very quiet ...I just love it!
Apparently I am being dragged kicking and screaming to OH's mums this weekend.. it is likely to be the last weekend we go until after the baby arrives so I can't really say no without looking like a dragon.. even though I DO look like a dragon..... oooh.. not sure how I am going to coordinate school pick ups tbh.. DS1 is working at the moment so I don't know who will be able to get them... not a cat in hells chance of The Perfect Parent getting them... so I text him anyway
with the 'I think it is important you at least MEET her new teacher!'..
The washing I hung out in the rain is now dry folded and ready to go awayI have 2 more loads about to be done which can go out in the morning.
I need to decant the remainder of tonights dinner into the fridge and reload the DW then I can do nothing for the rest of the eveningLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Well done with the turps FFP!
Well done with the sanding Mr Dusty!
You seem to have achieved a lot today pigpen - hope you survive next weekend.
Glad to hear that you have given yourself a treat, skint
Hope your aches and pains are improving with rest, MMM
Good luck with the house hunting, mummyroysof3 - the right house for you is out there somewhere.
Well done to everyone who's managed to get their washing dry between showers.
I don't quite know where today has gone:
- sending messages to eB@y buyers
- reading 11 mails :rotfl: that came through this morning from someone in New Zealand who is sharing his research about my mad ancestor with me (and I put in my pennyworth every so often for him) and replying in just one mail
- baking DGS3's christening cakes (they smell delicious)
- putting more stuff on eB@y and Freecycle
- meeting a friend for coffee at the garden centre and decluttering millionaire's shortbread (well, it was the last piece on the plate!) then picking up two enormous empty boxes (big enough to take quilts) when all I'd bought was some suet blocks for the birds!
- bringing in stuff from the shed that I've sold
- adding to the CS box
- cooking a meal
- etc etc
Everything seems to take so long! But the house is looking decidedly emptier than it was a week ago and cleaning takes no time at all(as you can see, that's exactly how long I've spent on proper flying today...)
DH has been out to a wargaming show in Lame Wolf Land. He managed to spend not a great deal on even more figures, but he did bring me home 3 bunches of daffs and an orchid :A
This is of course bribery - now he wants me to list some railway wagons for him on eB@y :rotfl:0 -

Swapped tiny amounts of folding stuff for a new sofa bed at the chalet that OH and I argued about a few days ago on the basis that (me) it has storage space and (him) it's ugly and won't be comfortable.
Moved it with the help of a new neighbour's father who would have quite liked to have an argument about whatever - no opportunity, we worked him too hard - into the spaced freed by moving the seriously knac*ered old sofa bed into a free zone prior to the dump *please* oh *please* and left
without an argument or bad word with anyone! To quote Valli:
WOOT!
I have been dreading today for a month, and was so on the ball as a result, I was so far ahead of all them, no arguments happened.
In the meantime, I sorted out a triple booking.
I still have to find out how to sort accommodation for a film crew, but that'll be a breeze in comparison to the last few weeks of worrying about ... all of it.Better is good enough.0
