I shall be in as much as I can be...
I have some frogs to munch

TY for lists/support; tis much appreciated. I particularly appreciate that I now have people on whom to 'call' with 'sticky' issues. Flying solo.. well, sometimes you need an extra ear or need a new perspective.

Thanks to Dusty for the new thread and to Natty for last week's.

We now have a moving date - 12th June - so there are only 5½ weeks left in which to pack up the house, plan farewell meals with our friends here and get workmen lined up for all the jobs in the new place. I have a master list as long as your arm, which includes baking cakes for DGS3's christening party in July - I daren't leave that job until we get to the new house because we shall be ripping out the old kitchen! However, the marzipan and icing can be done at DS2's house (a good excuse to visit DGS3 whom we've only seen three times since he was born at the end of February).

After a week doing very little serious flying - although I did manage to swallow a couple of big paper frogs - I shall have to run through the whole house from top to bottom today, tidying and doing basic cleaning, so that the various "removals consultants" will be able to see what we are taking with us when they come to give us quotes. I am still freecycling, eB@ying and filling CS bags as fast as I can. The yard is now clear, there are part-rolls of roofing felt and weed suppressing membrane in the shed which need measuring and listing, and in the spare bedroom a huge boxful (for which I shall not have any storage room in the new, much smaller house) of old framed watercolour paintings done by my great-aunts and a gt-gt-uncle is awaiting sorting - I'm going to remove the pictures from their very nondescript frames and store them in a slimline A2 carrying case for which I *can* find space :) I don't want to throw them away because they're part of my family history.

    Best get moving, then!

Get-well-soon wishes to MMM's DD and posivibes to your FiL, Dusty

    Thanks Dusty

Ionafan - we are applying that theory to the house atm, asking myself for the not sure things if we moved to a smaller house would I really pay to transport it or find room for it at the other end? Lots going, ours looks better already.

OH found a pile of stuff from when we originally knocked the pantry wall down at short notice several years ago. Lots of brass and copper that came from my late FIL, and a nice solid big loaf tin which was a result.

Lots more to do today but the sun is shining and it looks like it is going to be scorchio later. I want to go out and play!

I'm definitely in this week - thanks for the lists Natty and Dusty :A:A

Weather not looking too promising here today, so will ignore the garden (again!) and munch some paper and phone frogs when I return from work this afternoon.

Kitchen is HORRENDOUS! so will have to tackle that. Need some shelving for the long corridor so I can stash all my catering crockery, but funds are in short supply at the mo, however, if I give up a few bottles of the vino collapso for the next couple of weeks, I can afford them in no time.

Off to have a shower now - laters ladies

    Morning all

    Lovely and sunny here.

Going to put WM on and S&S sinks and loos and then head outside to see how many long standing gardening jobs I can get done.

Thank you Natty and Dusty for the lists and Lamewolf and GI for your thoughts on dog fostering. They were extremely helpful. Ionafan, good luck with the move decluttering and countdown.

I'll have to S&S the shower room and bathroom today and then deal with the carpet washer, which was parked behind the sitting room door after use late on Thursday night. I might even do the first half of that room and open the French windows up to get the ball rolling on that mammoth task.
    Better is good enough.

morning all!! I am felling a bit more motivated today which is good I think that my blahh day yesterday was influenced by the news that a colleagues father had passed away suddenly, my mum and dad and in laws are all getting frailer and I guess it just felt a bit close to home.

But after a good night's sleep I am feeling a little more positive which is good as I've got a long list of jobs to do today!!

Off for a quick shower and then I'll post the list!!
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last
