I always used to pair up the kids' socks and put the odd ones into a basket in the hope that the other ones turned up. Eventually, as the kids grew up the odd socks box was full to overflowing with socks that were too small, the elastic had stretched or the colours weren't quite the same as they'd been through different washes. Given that you can get socks on Primark and Matalan for not a lot I bit the bullet and decided to get rid of them. By that time there were over 200 socks to be got rid off
The eldest 2 have now left home so the socks don't multiply quite so much these days
I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 2013

I have an odd socks bag (mine have a habit of getting separated in the laundry bag :o ) and I'm ruthless about clearing it out every few months!

    200 socks, OMG!!! :rotfl:
Life is a gift... and I intend to make the most of mine :A

All my socks are colourful & patterned, my brother (3) finds the pairs then gets to throw them in the draw - lucky him! :D

I try to remember roughly which colours we all had to assist putting away of socks but confess to failing with the kids. We all have M&S silver socks anyway but I got DD socks from the boys section because the girls didn't have plain black or grey heel and toe. With theirs, I will try to even out the socks so they have a similar amount. They are free to raid each others drawers if they are running low though. It's mainly so that I know which child to harass when I have a lone sock in the basket.
I just need to train DH. I bought myself some of the boys skull and crossbones socks from Asda a while ago and he kept putting them in DS's drawer. He puts my knickers in DD's drawer. I'm then left wondering where all my clothes are as I'm up to date with washing and it's all away!

    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.
  • I have given up on matching socks for DS and DD. Sometimes its in, other times its not. Good luck with yours.
