Socks for kids - single colour?

Hello,

I don't know if I'm the only person who HATES those multi packs of socks for kids/teenagers where there are a range of colours... it's not that I hate colour, just that it makes it really hard to match up pairs. My DS2 is 14 and I always buy his socks in multi packs. In each pack of 5 pairs of socks, there are 5 colours...so I can only occasionally reunite pairs.

The question...
...does anyone know a company selling socks in a multipack in a single plain colour? I'd love to buy 15 pairs all in one colour, then it would be immediately obvious which socks belonged to DS2 and also it would be mega quick and easy to pair them up!

I know that black, grey and white socks are available like this - it would be great to get some other colours (these aren't for school). For your information, DS2 wears size 5 shoes so he can't wear adult men's socks yet.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'd have thought there weren't many differences between men's and women's socks, other than colour and size. So women's as well as men's might be worth a look?

We bought multi packs of one-colour socks in a rainbow of colours in America. Might be worth having a look at ebay? Someone might sell them.

As an aside, all my daughter's friends actively go for mis-matched socks - when my DD had a matching pair on one day last week she shrieked and had to change them before she went to college! :rotfl:

Pairing socks is one of those tasks like stuffing a mushroom. A lot of effort and minimal appreciation :)

My son wears just black socks. When his socks get shabby i just buy him a couple of packs that are plain black and pairing them up is a doddle. My middle son wore grey. Again, i bought two packs and matching them was easy.

If one got a hole in i would just chuck the one sock away and sooner or later when another sock got a hole in i'd chuck it away and have a matching pair.

When my youngest daughter lived at home she had multi coloured socks but since she was the only one who wore pastel coloured socks pairing them up wasnt really a problem.

my DD does that too - her school socks are plain black, but her other socks are all multi-coloured and she deliberately wears them mismatched :). Most of my socks are black with different coloured toes and heels, and I mismatch them too!

So glad that I'm not alone! I haven't paired socks in... a while now and I'm not about to start now. :rotfl:

*memories of school white socks with lacey trim, 5 lace patterns in one pack...*

Neither of mine wear pairs of socks - my son used to unpair them specifically so he could wear odd socks. The only time he wears matching socks is if he gets new socks, then the first wear is of pairs. After that, back to odd again.
It's currently "really sad" supposedly to wear matching socks at my daughters school. My mum was appalled the other day when she saw my daughter skip out the door on her way to school wearing a grey and pink stripy sock and a blue sock with cats on.

OH has those, too. And they are pretty easy to match up.

I don't think DS has any pairs of socks at all. The little..... love.... seems to have about 20 odd socks. Don't know how he managed that one.

It was "really sad" when I was at boarding school, aged 11 and 12.....
