Why is nannytone being attacked? Have a go at the government, she is claiming what she is entitled to. Anyone overweight can get help to use gym etc if you contact your doctor. I can get reduced rate as my weight is affecting my health.
I give up with all this attacking. Nannytone got a new property, so she was entitled to it.

    Get a life.

Whilst pleased that Nanny has got a new flat, I think it is a little disingenuous of her to say that she could not afford the rent on the other one.

She could afford the rent. What she couldn't afford was the rent and two gym memberships.

You seem to have missed Nanny's last post where she says that she now has this paid for by her direct payments.

Then indeed I have. Nanny always stated that it was her DLA that was used to pay for the gym. DP was used to pay for her PA's wages.

IF what you say is true, then it's my belief that DP shouldn't be paying for this.and I can't see them changing her DP overnight. However, if it's her DLA that's paying it, it's really none of our business.

Not far to look for Nanny's last post - # 511

"just to say thanks again ...
some of you will know that i had to cancel my gyn membership because i couldnt afford it with the reduction in housing benefit.
so now i can afford it again... well yes.
but ive just been told that this is an acceptable expense for my direct payments.

so thankyou all for my gym membership too!"

Nanny's obviously more plausible in the flesh than she is on here.

I'm sorry. I hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Starting to thanks, started my antibiotics yesterday. Only way is up now :)

    Oh. That sounds horribly likely.

You could be right, I could be wrong :D Just goes to show how 2 human brains can interpret things totally differently :D

Quite some while ago now I lived on Supp. Ben. of £6 a week plus £4 rent, yet I forget until something happens to remind me.

I think the CTB cut has just hit here.

Think it hit most places last month, but the Scottish Government took the hit on it for the first year. But hey, it's only fair, we had an extra year of the poll tax :p J/K before people start going on about it's merits!!!

Yes I confess I did miss that part, blame the illness.

Nanny, can you explain how that one works? I thought with DP you were paid a set amount of hours, would that mean you are going to cut your PA's hours or does it mean that you get an increase in the DP that you are receiving.

It seems that nanny has someone fighting her corner with her. I just wish every disabled person had someone like that in their corners with them :)

One person's "fighting their corner" can be another person's pulling strings.

It's no wonder Nanny hasn't wanted to move out of her area when she has whoever holds the purse strings wrapped so firmly round her little finger. It's a pity they can't see what she's written on here about manipulating the system.

Do you really need to be advised on why your post was removed?
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.

    Nanny,

I think you have this wrong, and this is leading to some of the confusion. And in quoting the wrong days you are doing yourself no favours.

You have said in another thread where you live.

In your district the CBL cycle runs from Thursday to Tuesday. It would therefore be normal practice for the Council to contact the Housing Association/Applicants on a Wednesday.

    Hope this clarifies.

It is interesting that this post gives a different account of how the bidding period works yet has gone unanswered.
