i say thanks... not to you, but to the system that i [paid into for may years in order for less fortunate people to receive the help they need.

if you dont like the system then you are free to lkeave and join another one.

Oh, the irony. Defending the system which you so freely corrupt for your own ends, shafting the less fortunate in the process. Priceless!

just to say thanks again ...
some of you will know that i had to cancel my gyn membership because i couldnt afford it with the reduction in housing benefit.
so now i can afford it again... well yes.
but ive just been told that this is an acceptable expense for my direct payments.

so thankyou all for my gym membership too!

    just remember these posts
You seem the type who will be looking for help in the future

quite a juxtaposition between these posts. How much tax do you estimate you paid in your working years?

    interesting choice of words
We used to have someone similar on the boards
she hides in the competition boards as a replacement for finding employment

over 30 years quiye a lot i would think.

but tax is always a percentage figure and so i paid the same percentage as others.

rgw sarcasm isnt a natural state of being for me. but the superior tone of some posters... just because they are taxpayers, really irks me
no doubt either they or members of their families benefitted from the tax i paid... but i wouldnt dream of telling them that they should change their whole life just because they happen to now be disabled.

why not put us all in institutions and feed us gruel?

Don't thank us. Thank the local Sure-Start center, or library, or after school club, or meals on wheels service etc which is closing down to balance the books. THEY are paying for your gym membership.

irk or not. you are the one dishing it out
You have kids. So (like myself) the cost of those kids, medical etc takes £000s from any tax you may have paid in
so think on with regards to thinking you have some pot of cash you deserve payment back from

i probably will need considerable help in the future.
and that is what i paid into the system for.

i didnt contribute so that others can tell me what i should and shouldnt deserve, or how grateful and suvserivient i should be.

i have the right to a quality of life.
too many seem to think that because i am disabled and am not working, then i should accept anything that comes my way.

that will never happen. i can see that the system is overstretched and changes need to be made.

but punishing people purely because they have no alternative seems like the easy option.

i am dishing it pout now.
you expect people to continuously be attacked and not to respond?
i never said that i never received education or schooling for my own kids.
    but i had 2.
should i then cry that it isnt fair when someone has 3 pr 4 because theeyre getting more out of the system than i did?
the system is based on need, not on what you pay in.

if i wasnt blind i would still be working and contributing, even though my expense to the system would be minimal ( no children, no benefits, no illness.... i havent been to the doctors in over 2 years)

would i them complain about others getting JSA? ESA? masternity allowance? SMI?.... the list could go on and on.
but the answer is no i wouldnt.... because the system is what a civilised nation is all about.
it looks after those in need.

So why do you constantly talk of what you paid in?
In this post you cite those with more kids than you, then on what you wouldn't complain about?
As ofr not seeing a doctor in 2 years. Are consultants not doctors?

nannytone, I find your behaviour and your attitude shameful. You have no thought for anyone but yourself.

Last year a dear friend had a massive stroke, the fact that she is still with us is a miracle. She has recently returned home from rehab, but is very disabled, there is little she can do for herself. Despite her level of disability, she only receives care twice a day, and she pays a significant contribution to that herself. But she battles on, she is determined to adapt to her new situation and do as much as she can for herself. And she is winning, we are all so proud of how she is getting on.

Then we have you, who receives considerably more care than she does at considerably less cost, and uses it for the most trivial of things (arranging your shampoo bottles?). You make no effort to improve your lot, you simply expect the state to provide everything you want. Take, take, take.
