Yes of course those with disabilities should take priority, as I've been saying all along. But that's why 10 points is a drop in the ocean. As the majority of these flats are age restricted. You may not agree with me. But you have to believe the facts.
What facts? That some councils give incentives for downsizing? I've never denied it. I've said our council doesn't. They used to, they don't now.I'm sure you will have reported it to the Local Authority, in which case suitable repairs will, I'm sure, have been carried out.
What's a private let to do with the local council? Not my place to report it, it wasn't me renting it. But from looking at the back steps on the picture, they are still crumbling... Maybe if it has been me going to rent it, but just maybe. At the end of the day, they wouldn't have got my money for a property like that4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

If there are 2 disabled people, each in a SH property unsuitable to meet their disability requirements, they would both have (for example) 150 points. However, if one was also under-occupied, they would have the 10 points for that, making a total of 160. Those extra 10 points, far from being "a drop in the ocean", would mean that she would be higher up the list. What facts? That some councils give incentives for downsizing? I've never denied it. I understand you are under Glasgow City Council? What's a private let to do with the local council?
Scotland has private LL registration. LL have certain duties and responsibilities regarding the condition of their properties. The Council have a duty to enforce those responsibilities and the legislation surrounding them. In extreme cases, the Council may even undertake necessary remedial work themselves. Not my place to report it, it wasn't me renting it. I see. Another one who's "I'm alright Jack and sod the rest".
If someone HAD reported it, maybe the works would have been completed prior to your fella viewing it. And, of course, had YOU reported it, the property may prove to be a viable alternative to someone who, because of the lack of remedial work, will now decide to compete with your daughter for a 1 bed Social Housing unit.
"Social Housing"? That should be "Selfish Housing".0 -

Not forgetting that the 29th of April was actually a Monday so there is still the bank holiday hurdle to get overDear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path. My mind is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the way to a just and right resolution. Amen.0 -
Are you a troll, nannytone?
I might not agree with you a lot of the time, but I did think you were a genuine person.
The evidence is stacking up to the contrary though.... :cool:0 -
I don't see any reason for them to lie (though they have, it's clear). I suspect from intuition only they jumped the list, saw the selfish posts then concocted the story, to avoid the selfish claims.
Personal feeling only, but I see their first post as a true account, what follows I cannot explain.Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0 -

That's my reading of the situation as well - I don't think it occurred to her that there was any other way of reading what happened.0 -

Irrelevant really even debating that, as it wouldn't happen in all honesty.

Says who? I have never revealed what council I'm with. And I don't intend to. I prefer a bit of anonymity on the net.Scotland has private LL registration. Call it selfish if you want. It's not my place to report something like that. It may have been the fella's place, definitely not mine. And they won't compete with my daughter for a 1 bed social unit, my daughter won't be moving. Her flat is perfect for her, albeit half a bedroom too big for her needs. Whether you like it or not, she will continue in her 2 bedroom flat, I just hope her DHP comes through.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

I don't see why not. Multiple needs are very common.Says who? I have never revealed what council I'm with. And I don't intend to. I prefer a bit of anonymity on the net.
It was just a question. I was going to see what help was available. But I respect your desire for privacy.Call it selfish if you want. It's not my place to report something like that. Great. Her DHP will run out soon enough then the public purse can save a few quid. Everyone's a winner. Bedroom Tax to the rescue once more!0 -

The person who is renting or otherwise involved can get the council to help, even if private, under some circumstances. Environmental Health dept....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
