why do you find it so difficult to grasp?
or maybe you dont... you just like to be pedantic
Because your version of events changes as often as most people's socks, I think....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Don't waste time calling it anything - grill it and put some spuds on to cook, instead!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Lighting up the chalice, I think it's me you're thinking of. I'm under Glasgow city council and on various housing association lists0

Hi,
Under the current legislation there is NOTHING you can do. They will or should advise you to claim for a discretionary housing payment (DHP) but you probably won't get it because each local authority is given an annual budget for this type of claim - and if they paid them to everyone who is impacted by the 'bedroom tax' they would blow the DHP budget in 9 weeks - and the last time I looked there are 52 weeks in a year.
There are 1000's of people in your situation and I don't believe the Government actually realised just how many people this would effect - put simply there is not enough housing stock to allow people to scale down, they have no where to move to.
I'm posting this info via my partner who is a very experienced (20+ years) private contractor for local housing benefits offices all over the UK, and she is very frustrated about this situation - being unable to help genuine cases of people in need.
thanks for the time and trouble you put into your reply.
luckily i have been given the tenancy to the 1 bed property as the nominated prospective tenant has chosen to move into my current property instead0 -
Not forgetting that the 29th of April was actually a Monday so there is still the bank holiday hurdle to get over
bank holidays mean nothing to me. they are a day the same as any other.
even when i was living with my ex partner ( who worked every bank holiday... no extra pay... it was part of his contract\0 even the shops are open. so why such an issue with me not remembering it was a bank holiday. ive had enough to think about in the past week or so without worrying if its a bank holiday0 -

as i have prebiously said ... i have given the information that i thought was correct at the time.
the fact that you dont want to believe it is irrelevant.
i have the move that i needed and wanted.
and you have your opinion.
hope you enjoy it as much as i will enjoy my new flat and garden0 -

YOU may not care about Bank Holidays, or even notice them, but I assure you that those who work (including those who administer Social Housing) are very well aware of them. It's THEIR stated actions that draw doubt upon your version of events.0 -

USUALLY the bidding shiuts on dunday, and nominations are passed to the HA the following day.. which would be monday.
so because i dont even think about bank holidays, i just followed the usual pattern.
i assumed HA got the nomination monday, contacted the nominated person tuesday and contacted me wednesday.
shock horror!!!!
they received the nomination and contacted the nominated person on the same day!!!
hardly crime of the century to be 24 hours out is it?
i suppose it is if youre looking for reasons to criticize.
