Everyone seems to be getting filed and organised paperwork wise this week end, so that's what I'll do too.

It is wierd isn't it. We all seem to be doing paperwork sorting. I sorted the desk completely and today started on my DHs accounts for 2006-07 because we need to know exact figures for filling in student loan forms x 2 , and EMA x 1. Its been a lovely blowy day for the washing so have got second load out.

DSs have decided to go camping tonight so I am going to give up on accounts and join DH in the pub soon. He has gone to sort out work, he calls it going to the office. :rotfl:

GiorgiaW, Just start on Lil-me's list and don't do more than you can manage in a day. I often don't get beyond Level one but I know it will come around again next week, and I have achieved something positive. It sounds like you have already got off to a great start. Well done.:T

I came on to check off my list, realised what I posted hasn't worked, oh well :rotfl: that saves admitting what I didn't do

Georgia, well done, sounds like you have made a great start. Everyones different with cloths, I have a disinfectant bucket that every used cloth goes into when beyond it's use by then wash when needed.

I too have been doing paperwork sorting, maybe from next week we'll make sure it's on the lists somewhere to remind everyone (inc me :o ) not to just leave it. I had a 3ft high mountain to get through!

I'll be still posting the new thread this evening, I know it's Bank Holiday tomorrow and some won't be here or want to do anything but unfair on the rest.

    Left to do for me

[STRIKE]Post new flylady list (after 7pm ish)
Clean up kitchen (seeing as I just messed it up cooking) [/STRIKE]
Cleaning through downstairs floors, vacuum and mop
    Clear and clean dining table
[STRIKE]Find receipt for portable DVD player (won't work within 2 days grr)
Check garden for dog mess and see if plants need watering (rain keeps missing them  )
    Put wash load on airers
Bath boys and [STRIKE]kick[/STRIKE] send them to bed[/STRIKE]
    Last of washing up
One day I might be more organised...........

    Right today i have:-

Boxed up 3 boxes of kitchen stuff
Littles fed, cleaned, dressed and stuff packed for 1st night away from home ever!
    Work
Packed up everything upstairs that can be
Packed rest of stuff from display cabinet in lounge
    Packed up store cupboard food
Printed out change of address letters (need to address and post - next job)

So S & S is a bit impossible at mo but plan is to start the cleaning on Tuesday.

Like the adding the paperwork to the list lil_me idea. I think i am gonna draw up a list of monthly jobs (like defrosting freezer etc) when I have unpacked at the other end.

I have a big monthlies list for me with ticky boxes :o I like my ticky boxes. Instead of putting a tick in those I usually put the date. Same with my dailies etc they are all done the same.

A good way I find is to make your own dry wipe one, print a list and laminate it, then use a felt tip/dry wipe pen. Makes them reusable. But if your kids are like mine keep it high up because they find it funny rubbing it out!

If you want to make your own charts, lists etc I like the ones on here https://www.chartjungle.com loads n there you can edit before printing now aswell.

Hi all and welcome Georgia. You will soon find in a few weeks the house is very tidy and only takes about an hour a day. Just tackle on area at a time or you will be overwhelmed and not achieve anything. For the gunky bits at the bottom of the taps, I find an old toothbrush and some limescale remover the best.

I like that idea of a laminated monthlies list, I don't know why I haven't thought to do it at home as I use the same thing at work for daily, weekly and monthly tasks/cleaning. I work in a lab and like to think my department is the sparkliest! Might just sort a little one out for home tonight..

    My little list for today

[STRIKE]Tidy kitchen [/STRIKE](not too much incase tomorrow is kitchen day!)
    [STRIKE]BM on [/STRIKE](yesterdays was glue)
    [STRIKE]Make crumble[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Paperwork sort [/STRIKE]and shred
    [STRIKE]S&S livingroom[/STRIKE]
Phonecalls x 2. One down, one to go

I think this is me saying ta ta until the new thread's started. Ta ta, have a lovely evening!

Toothbrushes are great for taps etc, I keep all old toothbrushes (after soaking them in milton) in an icecream tub under the sink, DPs found them keeps using them for car parts etc, so next time I am short of one I might just have to use his!!

I've cleaned all round my cable box, video and dvd player with a damp cloth and tried to clean as well as I can round the wires leading to them all - ready for the engineer on Tuesday morning. Thank goodness it was only me watching when all the dirt came off :-O

Just put the vacuum round downstairs, including pulling out the furniture the engineer might possibly need to move to get to cables. I'm hoping he will just take out the old box and put a new one in which won't mean moving anything much.

Fingers crossed. I hate people coming to the house to do stuff.

I still reckon the cable box is full of cat hair.....
