Hello All!!
Been AWOL for a few days as things took a turn for the busy or is that panic. Phone call from EA saying our buyers buyer now want to complete by 1st June. We phoned removals who can move us on Wednesday so thats ok as bungalow is empty and thankfully most of the jobs we wanted to do are done. But I had not one box packed! We got the phone call on Thursday afternoon by the way. The main problem is I am working today, tomorrow and Monday, so basically I have Tuesday to get everything together. So been busy packing, phoning, panicking!
So my house looks like something has exploded. When I get home today I am hoping my sideboard has been collected by the chap from freecyle. Edit - DH just phoned to say has been collected.
It amazes me how my list of urgent jobs, ie packing, and DH list, ie sorting broadband & sky, are so different  . Still I guess between us we should have most bases covered.
I personally dont see us completing next week as our buyers solicitor has not been in touch with ours so the paperchain has not even begun. Still all I can do is keep everything crossed.
Off to have a quick flick back at the thread to see what I have missed the last few days!0 -
Hello,
Welcome back catznine, hope it was a great hol. Welcome Georgia, hope you find it useful here! Moneyqueen, you'll find support on here whoever's list you're working to.
Lil_me, that's a bit of a pig about your new neighbours-to-be. Can make things stressful. Good luck with the room overhall,Michelle and pigpen, good luck finding the middle room!
Hi too to Maralum, I can see you lurking! Hope you're doing well.
I've had a bit of a lazy morning and could be a lazy afternoon if I don't get motivated.
Managed to get one washload out, walked to the shops for a saturday paper, did a little bit more weeding and a quick tidy round the house. I lay on the sofa in the sunshine with the paper at 11.30 and fell asleep 'til 2!
Anyhow, going to put the BM on and make some bikkies. I also want to reverse the doors on the fridge and the freezer but both are under counters and I'm a lazy bag today. Big kick for me anyone? One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Hello all,
I would love to give this a try because my house is a mess and I'm not organised at all.
I'm afraid I'm going to fall at the first hurdle because there's no way I can swish and swipe (is that the correct term?) my kitchen. The worktops are covered in 'pending' stuff. Can someone please tell me what to do with things that come into the house and need to be kept out so that I don't forget to do something with them?
I'm talking about things like letters from school concerning future events, insurance reminders that come a month early etc. There's also a pile of newspapers and magazines which I or someone else in the house hasn't read yet, stuff that's broke off something and is waiting to have something done about it, odd spare things left over from jobs such as knobs, hinges etc, things you had in your hand when you came in the house so they just get left on the worktop, instruction leaflets for something kept outside so needs to be handy, etc, etc, etc.
If I could just get the worktops cleared it would be heaven but whenever I've tried I fail dismally because a lot of the stuff I need to be reminded about and the rest hasn't got a home.
Please help me get started.
I bought some cork tiles and got DH to paste them onto wall behind kitchen door, floor to ceiling, so then calender, renewals/ credit card bills, hospital/dental appointment letters, school letters are all pinned up, held together with clip things. Son says they may be bulldog clips.DH goes through them every weekend, throwing old letters away and making sure all others are in date order. I just bung them on the board. The cork wall doesn't look very elegant but it really works, and it is usually hidden by the door that is rarely closed. I also write all appointments, school trips etc on calender straight away and put reminders on my hotmail calender.
I put all guarantees, instruction books into plastic wallets in a card organiser box which sits on the book shelf. Other things I need to deal with go in an office organiser on my desk. Magazines in magazine rack or on coffee table. I put them out for recycling or give them away after two months.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Did I used to think (way back when I was a kid) that weekends were for resting and lazing about????
Pfhew...
Today I have: Gone shopping.. and helped DH put it all away.
S&S my kitchen TWICE! Ran the dishwasher.. it is now on it's second run of the day..
Took DD3 to horseriding school to inquire about her maybe starting lessons. Stopped in at DS's baseball match to cheer him on. Bought tickets for DD2's musical show tomorrow afternoon. (Fun huh? 5 kids!)
Put WM and TD on 3 times.. Not folded anything yet, just piling it on the couch for now.
Fed the kids of course.. make sure everybody has clothes on, and sat down for cups of coffee and chats with DH in between.
Still to do: today:
Toilet Done
Hoover and mop floors downstairs done
Sort bookcase and dressoir cabinet as they are both filling up with crap. (but might ty that over till tomorrow)
Fold washing done a little, and stuck another load on
Iron
feed kids
Go see puppy.
drink bottle of Merlot with DH. :rotfl: (everybody keeps saying I should have 'me' time!! So what are you complaining about?)

Success!! I've single handedly reversed the fridge door. I didn't think I'd be able to but with the help of a few props not mentioned in the instruction manual (corn cob holder, corkscrew, potato peeler and recycling tub) it now opens the way I want it to. I do wish there was a man in the house though at times like these.... Seems a waste to fill the air with curses and no-one to direct them at :rotfl:
Freezer can wait til defrost time, the cubby hole is too small to work in.
Condensed milk choc chip cookies were a success. Ask me on Monday how many of the 24 are left. Better not I'd only have to fib.One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400

Going well Michelle keep it up
Welcome Georgia. Shell, you've certainly got your hands full, hope everything goes well
This is it, hope you feel better soon.
Some fab ideas there for organising. After dealing with a mountain myself I am going to invest in a new in/out paperwork tray, for dealt with (to be filed, my filing cabinets great it's just getting it there!) and needs to be dealt with. I found several things that should have been sorted weeks ago, things that should have been back yesterday etc. The You, Me and Kids calendar is also a god send! One day I might be more organised...........

further update. I'm shattered again, which isn't surprising as again, i have not stopped all day. DH went out at about 1:30, and he's still not back, and all the crap from the spare room is still in our room, so i have loads left still to do. I can't wait for my spa day tomorrow. I'm going to have a lovely swim, and then see what treatments i can have, a lovely lunch with the girls, and hopefully feel invigorated for the week ahead.
Saturday 26/5/07- go out and wash line as covered in spider webs as i forgot to fold it away no as weather turned nasty
- [strike]hang out towels [/strike]went in TD, [strike]and DH's PJs [/strike]went on airer
- [strike]next load in[/strike]today i have done - towels, bath mats, DH's jeans, and now his work t-shirts/jumpers are in
- [strike]once bed dismantled, hoover[/strike] and dust the spare room, [strike]before taking the new bed up[/strike]
- clean the new bed where it has got mucky from being in the garage for the past couple of months
- [strike]get DH to clean up the cat kill outside the garage door[/strike] (baby squirrel i think)
- put travel bags away on top of the newly cleaned wardrobe tops
- clean window in spare room (will need to do outside as well)
- buy mum some flowers for her wedding anniversary
- [strike]phone sister to work out what the timings are and what i need to take on the spa day i am going on tomorrow[/strike]
- [strike]DH needs to go and collect some equipment he said he would sell on commision for some students.[/strike]doing that now and he will be a good few hours
- [strike]i need to mark lots of SAT papers as i don't know when my extra ones are coming[/strike] batch of 60 i had partly done are now finished - just need to add up the marks
- i need to run the hoover round the rest of upstairs where i am not cluttered, although that will probably be after we start moving some of the junk back into the spare room
- [strike]get DH to put the baby swing and cot mobile in the loft[/strike]
- get DH to bring the baby walker in out of the garage and assemble that
- i need to wash the cover off the baby bouncer, then that needs dismantling, and then that can also go in the loft at some point.
- make shepherds pie for dinner
- make some baby purees
- [strike]sort out charlies things for tomorrow as i think i have to leave about 8ish[/strike]
Gosh - we have loads to do when i look at it written down, so i had best get on.
Extras:- made baby bottles for tomorrow
- made lunch
- washed up all breakfast and lunch dishes
- garage had a thorough clean/tidy
- run up to the tip with cardboard for recycling, and any rubbish
- DH has sorted a huge pile of his stuff for ebaying (that can be done on one of the other days this weekend)
- played with/dealt with grumpy teething baby
- empty kitchen bin
- make loaf in BM
Off to catch up with the thread, and then i had best get dinner started. Don't really have the energy but we had fish and chips last night and i don't want to start the downward spiral or i would then feel really rubbish.
Then, DH can do kitchen clear up as i need to finish these papers off as i'm behind where i wanted to be with it but that isn't really surprising.
Michelle, x
I've just managed to make a beef base which i have made into shepherds pie which DH can warm up for our dinner tomorrow, chilli for tonight, plus an extra dinner of chilli for next week sometime.
DH came in and has started putting up my new light shade that he bought last week, so that is another big box gone from the living room. I love it when a plan starts coming together!!!0 -

Well with work yesterday did not get a huge amount done. Has SIL staying last night so by the time I had cooked the HM chinese (which was lush) it was time to get littles to bed etc.
It would appear my oven element may have gone. I saw some sparks and then oven no longer heated up (will pop it on again this morning to check). So another thing to add to the list before we move. I had a look on the belling website and the part is only 17.50 but dread to think what the installation charge will be, guess I will be unable to ring them now until Tuesday.
Extra boxes were delivered so at least DH can get on with packing up the sheds today. I have a huge list of things to do including last minute cleaning (wiping skirting boards etc) but thats once the furniture has all gone.
Happy flying everyone.0
