Weekly Flylady Thread 21st May 2007

Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!

Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.

THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.

Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.

A few of the basics before we start the week

Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there loads of other things follow!

Daily routines are anything you need to do on a daily basis like washing, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc

Nighttime routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.

27 Fling Boogie - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding 27 items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.

Welcome aboard Emmy, hope you don't mind me shortening it just a long name to type :o if you'd prefer something else just say, I went for the middle bit :rotfl:

Think I'll dive in for a level 3 tomorrow as so far only one appointment, oh and helping DP try to sort the ABS on his car, somethings gone wrong somewhere possibly when had wheel/suspension off.

In addition to the list, dailies and night time stuff I also need to

    Pack and post ebay item
Get tax for my car sorted
Make GP and nurse appointment for me
    Finish my bedroom
    Finish sorting OU stuff
    Order some forms from OU
Find reciepts that need to be sent of and get them posted
Fill in some forms for hols I need to send back
3 loads of laundry to catch up (then hopefully will be empty if DS2 doesn't wet for 5th night in row grrrr!)
Sort out borrowing suitcases from someone

Phew!! Will add to as required/I remember things. I did have a written list but I think I 'flinged' it :rotfl: bad things sometimes these fling boogies!

Evening all and welcome anybody joining us for the first time this week.

Shirleypark hugs to you. How are things this evening?

Thanks for all your kind wishes re the LOs( although the ill two are 11 and 13 fortunately the LO 5 is ok). Sadly they are no better, still have fevers and have stayed laying down all day - I knew they were ill as they were in the same room for 7 hours without fighting:rotfl: Flying could be limited tomorrow as I doubt either will be able to go to school, DS2 needed OH to carry him up the stairs back to bed.

I have been descalling the back of the draining board with kitchen towel soaked in vinegar laying on it - it has worked a treat and the same piece is now round the cold tap in the loo.

Potted on lots of my seedlings.

    See you all tomorrow

    Evening everyone,

Well, ive been busy today - had my mum and her partner staying, so didnt get anything done whilst they were here, however, once they went, i decided to tackle upstairs, so thats all dusted and hoovered and looking tidy (even the childrens rooms) - ive also swished the kitchen, swept the floor, swished the bathroom and toilets, emptied and put away the dishes from the DW, hoovered and tidied downstairs, made the packed lunches and ive just got all the washing out of the WM, and hung it up outside (im hoping the BBC website is right, and it wont rain tonight!!!) - so all i wanted to get done this weekend, and a bit of a head start on tomorrow.
Mind you, have a busy day with 3 LOs here, so not much chance to do much, but will tackle the kitchen when i can, prob when smallest LO has a sleep!
Right, off to watch the rest of the BAFTAs, or i might go to bed early (oh, i also washed my bedding today, and its now back on the bed) and read a bit of my book.
    Have a lovely evening xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

((HUGS)) by the way to Shirley, hope things will be ok xxx

Just getting my thoughts together for tomorrow. Just had a good sort through a pile of clutter on the coffee table. I don't know where it all comes from!!!!

Plus, need to be thinking about what i am eating/doing tomorrow as it is now the one month countdown to getting in the bridesmaid dress again, and i don't want all the trauma of the last time. (spa day to look forward to at the weekend)

I think i am going to finish here, then go and have a lovely bath, and get into bed so i can catch up on my sleep a bit tonight.

  • hi all, well wasn't around much last week as trying to focus on dfw thread and sort finances a bit more - well nearly there - and as suspected i don't have enough!!! so decided to forget about it and do flylady again as that i can tick as done on a daily basis!! (only joking focused a bit more on money and now need to try and juggle both - i find that hard!! - it would appear i can only focus on one of those at a time!)

hope everyone ok, glad its kitchen i am making a start now as it looked like something had errupted - proving my suspicion that i am NOT naturally tidy and need to work hard at it - but my mum did the 5 overflowing baskets of ironing i had (angel that she is) and dh and i have cleared todays washing tonight!! so at least something is sorted

see you all tomorrow - even if i don't post i am here!
