Santander trying to steal £14,200 from me

I don't think that it is easy. What I am trying to explain you is that if you cannot separate don't freeze the entire account until you can. Then set some clear limits for either proving your accusations or admitting that you cannot do this.
If you cannot do something, it's your problem, not mine.
That is how banks get fined for not following procedure laid down, NOT by them but by the authorities who regulate them.
Do not blame the banks. They are only doing what they have been told to do.
Clearly if they leave the account live and the money then disappears how is it going to be reclaimed...Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
Really? Even if they take 2-3 days to send copies from a branch to their 'investigators' and then 'investigators' take another 2 days to have a look at them?dalesrider wrote: »Do not blame the banks. They are only doing what they have been told to do...

How do you know it should take less time when you have no information about a) the number of cases, b) the procedures that must be followed and c) the complexity of each case? Plus, how would you enforce someone outside the UK's jurisdiction to comply with UK-enforced time limits? ML cases, very specifically, often involve all sorts of countries outside UK jurisdiction. Some won't respond to requests from a UK bank before hell freezes over.0 -

Grumbler you forget that all through this we only have the OP's word. Some of what he has said and you for that matter does not make sense in the real world!
I'm going to put this out there (and yes I know I'm going to get shot down and yes they do have a place) but i would never trust the advice of someone with an Aqua credit card to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of the financial services industry. Or someone with a high knowledge of gambling formulae! Grumbler I've read many of your previous posts to try and get a handle on you and I'm afraid are a troublemaker who merely answers back regurgitating what other people post.0 -
Incidentally, the first part about 2-3 days to send was said by dalesrider, not the OP. LOLGrumbler you forget that all through this we only have the OP's word. Some of what he has said and you for that matter does not make sense in the real world!
Very stupid of you on too counts:I'm going to put this out there (and yes I know I'm going to get shot down and yes they do have a place) but i would never trust the advice of someone with an Aqua credit card- Don't judge people by the cards they use.
- Very stupid not to have Aqua (Reward) card that pays the highest cashback on all transactions and doesn't charge for currency conversion.
Just another example of what sort of people work in 'financial industry'. Hardly a surprise that we keep seeing threads like this about banks' arrogance and incompetence. You seem to be incapable even of seeing the difference between gambling and Matched Betting (Advantage Playing) that over several years made me tens of thousands pounds as second income and without any risk. Yes, it requires ability to do some very simple calculations.to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of the financial services industry. Or someone with a high knowledge of gambling formulae! ye and you have villa in Monaco........ Defend yourself fair enough but more bull. But back to where you actually have some knowledge!0 -
No, I don't have a villa, but I took my mortgage for 13 years, not for 25, and after 9 years I had more than enough savings to pay it off early. The only stopping me from doing this is 3% that we are getting on our cash ISAs while paying just 0.99% on our mortgage.

.
My quoteNo idea how you sent it in, but most banks now work with a system that anything sent in, is sent off to be scanned onto your account and will then be looked at. This can take 2 days to get onto your account.
That was for the OP's paperwork getting to the correct department. Taking it that Santander work in the same way as we do.
It will then be worked in the order it is sent in.
Remember that any contact with the 3rd party banks will/can take a lot longer.
They need to do their own search on the transactions involved and maybe have to request details from another bank and so on.... Again this will be worked when it gets to the top of the pile.
This type of investigation is never going to be quick or easy.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0
