I was observing the replying to a previous reply another poster has given to an earlier reply, replying to a post I didn't understand.
My word I'm confused.0 -

That's why I assume that all posts are truthful unless there are genuine reasons for thinking otherwise. No I don't. What I said is that I - - - along with anyone else here - - have no means by which to judge whether the posts are lies or the truth, or a mixture.
This is not specific to this thread, it applies to literally all posts where somebody reports what happened to them. That includes my posts - how do you know what I say is true or a lie?
Not me.Of course I know that quantity doesn't equate to quality. However, if you have seen hundreds if not thousands of posts of a certain poster, you get a very good feeling for the quality of posts of a given poster.
In fact, 'irrelevant' was too mild word. The post in question was simply incorrect. In no circumstances do I have any time for anyone bursting into an established environment and decreeing that a long-standing and respected(*) member is making irrelevant remarks.
Anyone has the right to disagree with incorrect remarks regardless of the post count. I don't understand why I have to quote this again:
How on earth katiepyke could be suggesting what dalesrider implied?dalesrider wrote: »
(In fact dalesrider quoted a different part of the post, but failed to quote the most relevant part).
I don't see anything impolite in pointing out that your post was misquoted and as a result of this something was implied that you actually didn't say or mean.If nothing else, it is extremely impolite
Thanks have been devalued even more by the very same 'Arms'. It's not that I am saying that this is the case for dalesrider personally.(*) I judge that by the number of thanks a poster received0 -

Just forget about it and focus on how utterly rich your JuicyJesus dollars will make you. Soon you'll be able to buy things with them and then they'll take the world by storm.urs sinserly,

Alright, seems we have to agree to disagree on this occasion, grumbler.
In the meantime, I have 50K of JJDs, in mint condition, to sell to the highest bidder. You won't get a batch of 50K JJD of that quality anywhere else. This batch is only available to most discerning buyers with properties in the W8, SW7, SW3, NW3 and GU25 post codes. Sorry, no exceptions. JJDs will be deposited into private bank vaults of their choice within a fortnight of transfer for the title deeds of the respective properties.0 -

That's obviously stating the obvious..........the only reason I stated it is because somehow the posts of the OP had been declared to be fact(ually correct). As I said, they may well be, but they may well not be. We are in no position to judge.
BTW, I don't think I have ever said I don't like Bitcoins.

If nothing else, it is extremely impolite - but more often than not it suggests that the "attacker" is too full of themselves.
I haven't been to The Arms in several years, and I don't know where the attacked MSEer usually posts but I have seen them constructively contributing to the board over a number of months. I also thought the particular attack was entirely unwarranted because it seemed to be a matter of "as you don't agree with me, I publically declare your post irrelevant".
(*) I judge that by the number of thanks a poster received
What a ridiculous way of judging it. I'd imagine the people with the highest thanks count are the people on the discussion boards that are basically chatrooms where they're all friends and "thank" every post they make. Take this very post - you were thanked by Dalesrider yet your post contains no useful information. Neither do the various parody posts or "joke" posts that were in this thread yet received numerous "thanks". It means virtually nothing.
To me, this just seems like some kind of "old boys club", where you and others act like you own the place and have more importance than "newbies". I'd imagine that's exactly what this board looks like to many other people new to it half the time as well...
And although I too have a high opinion of Dalesrider based on other contributions, they've made mistakes on here before, they have done in this thread and they will do in the future (as I have, and I don't doubt you have). Them having a large number of thanks next to their name however doesn't make them immune from criticism. I have no idea if it's deliberate but their posts on the matter come across just as rude as the "newbie" you bizarrely derided. No doubt we'll have to agree to disagree that old members should be treated better than new members.0 -
I've reported innovate and JuicyJesus to the moderators, hopefully we can get some moderators in here to fix all the trolling, MSE rules sayPlease be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way.
They seem to be breaking about every part of that rule, and just generally trolling, so hopefully a moderator will sort it out and we can continue trying to resolve my issues with Santander in a sensible manner.0 -
With the greatest respect, if you can't take a little bit of banter like that you really do have to look in the mirror.I've reported innovate and JuicyJesus to the moderators, hopefully we can get some moderators in here to fix all the trolling, MSE rules say

Feel free to highlight the specific text that has caused offence, just in case I missed it.
This forum has had previous issues with people trying to ramp precious metal prices. So a bit of humour around the value of the JJ$ should be the least of its worries. And with £10k plus "stolen" by your bank it should certainly be the least of your worries.
Reported? Behave man!0 -
Wow wow, put the half-price handbags away guys. No need to argue over this
What will your verse be?
