I've reported innovate and JuicyJesus to the moderators, hopefully we can get some moderators in here to fix all the trolling, MSE rules say

They seem to be breaking about every part of that rule, and just generally trolling, so hopefully a moderator will sort it out and we can continue trying to resolve my issues with Santander in a sensible manner.

Well done. Hopefully we can get rid of all the posters that generally give good advice or opinions.
Forunately you'll be ok as you don't seem to offer help to anybody else.

Had some fun this morning since again I was lied to about the situation being resolved again, called up and apparently they've lost the proof yet again. One of my friends recommended I call the police and report them for theft. I was dubious about it so called the police actionfraud department. They said I should go into my local police station and file a report for theft. I called the bank one last time to give them one last opportunity to resolve it and they refused, so off I went to the police station. On the way to the police station in the car I got a somewhat frantic call from a manager at Santander telling me that it wasn't nescesary, and that I just needed to wait...yea, not happening, so I went into the police station. Talked to a detective about it and explained what actionfraud had told me, and explained what had happened so far. She agree'd with me and I ended up with quite a few people all gathered in the reception of the police station as she called the bank to listen in on what was happening, she called them and they agree'd to release my uncontested funds rather quickly, which is a good start, and I went in branch to withdraw that and it all went smoothly.

The interesting part however, is that Santander lied to a police detective, they said to the police detective that RBS had already had the money returned to them, then when I went in branch to collect they told me that the disputed funds were still being investigated as to whether I could keep them or not, and they are going to put that in writing! so I will soon in theory have written proof that Santander lied to a police detective. Crazy!

As for the reason I reported some of the posts -
    Not helpful at all
Off topic for the thread / thread hijacking
Lots of posts by those users are 100% in violation of the rule I quoted
IMO it's trolling and attempting to turn the thread into a flame war because they have a personal vendetta against bitcoin.

I don't make the rules, I just mentioned that I reported it to a moderator as it seems to be in clear violation of the forum rules, it's up to the moderators to decide not me. I will continue to ignore all the troll/stupid posts and keep updating anyway.

Lighten up a bit, will you. I have no personal vendetta against bitcoin(s) - in fact, the worst you could possibly accuse me of is that I have never said anything negative about bitcoins anywhere that you could trace.

Some of us were just having a bit of a banter whilst we were waiting for you to report that another lot of no progress had been made with Santander. Once you had said "one thing I will say is during this time of hardship, the £ / Banking system is failing me, while my bitcoin savings are perfectly safe." you were bound to get some micky-taking, don't you see that?

Can't stop any longer right now, I have some folks popping in for a large JJ$ deal

I do. BitCoin is moronic. It is backed by nothing. Even fiat currencies have value because you can use them to purchase useful goods and services, so they are backed by their respective countries' economies. BitCoin has no backing, no real legitimate uses and thus no value. Its entire existence and popularity is based around nothing but wishful thinking, it's a bubble and it will pop. Basing your livelihood around it is suicidal.

My personal opinions aside, I'm very confused by OP's story also. Why would the police get involved in something that is entirely a civil matter? That makes no sense whatsoever. Santander breached no laws (it's not theft, despite what your friend said), and in the case of fraud the OP is actually the beneficiary of it rather than the victim, given that he's the one complaining that he's not allowed access to money that was stolen from someone else. Even assuming that the police did get involved, it's certain as hell that a branch manager or a phone jockey wouldn't be dealing with it - their legal department would. And why would they be doing all this in the reception of a police station with people crowding round to listen? Don't the police and their staff have better things to do than eavesdrop? Also how were they calling Santander, and why would Santander take the word of some random person calling them that they were a police officer? Why would Santander be scared enough of the police to release the funds of a suspected recipient of fraudulent money when they have done nothing legally wrong, especially when the police have absolutely no authority to do so?

I finally, finally call troll. And also bullsh*t.

Have to agree. I find it incredibly hard to believe that a load of people were all sat round a phone listening to a "detective" getting the OP's money back.
Mind you, only 8 months back the OP stated that he was on benefits and had just been refused a credit card. Seems his fortunes have changed a fair bit since then.
