What to wear when looking at houses ?

We haven't moved in some time and frankly I've forgotten much of the whole process
so this may seem a stupid question but what do you wear when looking at houses ?
OH would be wanting to poke at wiring and look in lofts etc so jeans or cords would be practical. But for me, I don't want to look scruffy and make them think we can't afford the house. Nor do I want to look so posh they expect top dollar.
After all, we as buyers are making an impression on vendors just as much as our homes make on prospective buyers.
You never know whether they'll pass on their impressions or any info they glean about you. As a kid I remember walking around a churchyard in the village we'd moved into that day. Another child said hello and knew my name, where we'd moved from and that I'd be in her class.
So any suggestions on the viewing process would be great thanks xx

I'd say jeans are ok, as long as smart.
Smart casual, can't go wrong :-)'' Ok Marge, if anyone asks, you require 24-hour nursing care; Lisa's a clergyman; Maggie is seven people and Bart was wounded in Vietnam ''0 -
Is this a !!!!take? I'd wear a Hugo Boss suit if I was you.0

Wear whatever you like.0 -
well , i tend not to walk around looking like a tramp , so anything above that`s probably fine!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

I wouldn't care if you turned up naked, so long as you had the ££££s to buy and made a reasonable offer. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

in some cases , it might be preferable to turn up naked!Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

If you are serious then you are massively overthinking this! Wear what you would normally wear to go out and about.
How will you ever pick a house if you are agonising over this type of decision!!!0 -
On no account wear anything with green in it if you are looking at an even numbered house on a thursday, unless it is the third thursday of the month and withing 60 days of the summer equinox.0

To be honest whatever you would wear to go into town on a Saturday afternoon would more than likely be fine. Chances are if you can afford a certain type of house then you're probably going to dress appropriately for that. For example if you can afford a £500,000 house then you probably live a lifestyle where you'd never leave the house in anything less than smart casual wear and that would be fine.
Generally speaking I'd say if you're in a position to buy a house then you're unlikely to be a particularly scruffy person any way.0
