Hello,

Not been on this site for a while but just want to ask some questions.

On 22.04.2013 I signed up with TalkTalk for (Phone, tv and Broadband) and I go live on 07.05.2013 however I am having mixed reactions already.

Do TalkTalk sent router's out on time before the live date? if so when did you recieve it? I am worried as I rang up today and its not been dispatched as of yet. :(

I really don't want a deley getting the router as I need internet for Jobseeking.

Also is it true that I get the Youview box 3 days after I go live?

Also is TalkTalk worth the money? I never been with them so Don't know but reason why I joined them is for the free youview box

Any help of these questions will be great, thank you.

Regards
Shaun

I'm no longer with TT, but I remember the router did arrive in time -can't comment on Youview - does that not need an engineer visit? If you have an old router, you may be able to use it if the new one doesn't arrive in time (depending on the router and/or your previous supplier)

I had reasonable speeds with TT, similar to what I get elsewhere. The reason I left is that they have a poor reputation for their 'technical support' - and I mean it is truly, really, worse than you can imagine, awful. It's based offshore and manned by script-reading 'staff'. I guarantee that if you ever need them, you will end up swearing at them, slamming the phone down, then breaking down in tears!

I'd suggest you join their online forum once you're up and running - the response to any issues is slower, but at least you get a proper answer.

Good value though when everything's working well - hope yours goes smoothly, because you do get what you pay for with them in terms of after sales service!

Thanks, and I am installing the router and the youview box myself which saves me £50.00 for a service call out :)

They'll normally schedule the router to be delivered the day before you are due to switch. So based on 7/5, you should get it by about next Monday-it'll only take one day in transit.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I am in the process of leaving BT to go to Talk Talk. i have a feeling this might be a mistake.

I have now provided Talk Talk with the third MAC code and am hoping this one works. BT say the previous two codes they provided me with were fine and the problem is with Talk Talk. Talk Talk say the last two codes are invalid and BT are providing me with duff codes on purpose.

Its like dealing with two kids, both blaming and bad mouthing the other.
