Hi everyone!
I'm having a peaceful afternoon as DH has taken DDs over to his mum's.
This morning we went to church and I had 32 lively children in Sunday School.
The washing is on the line, the beds are stripped and the bedding is in the wm.
So my plans for the day are:
1. put in the bedding plants (rained yesterday)
2. write a meal plan
3. write a shopping list
4. do all of the ironing
5. cook a meal for DH and DDs
6. make the packed lunches
I'm going out for a meal with some old friends this evening. It will be my birthday in just over a week and we always get together for birthdays and xmas. We've known each other since we were all at Infant School together so we will spend most of the evening saying 'Do you remember...'!
Have a good day!0 -
afternoon. Bathroom has been cleaned from top to bottom. Need to put the lotions & potions back in & give them a wipe over to get rid of the dust.
Next is the bedrooms for a dust & hoover. Then downstairs needs doing.
I need to start a huge declutter at some point.
I shall start with my chick lit paperbacks & donate them to the local petshop who sell them for 20p each. The money goes to the local dogs home.

Afternoon everyone, hugs to those who'd like one or who needs one.
Busy morning so far. Text from DSS1 to say that he, wife, new baby and mil were on their way over to the local farm shop for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, would we like to join them.
Had a lovely chat, then invited them all back to our place so baby could be fed etc. Fortunately had expected this, so house was tidy and well aired! MIL was charming. I've met her before when we were in Australia, and I've seen her recently at DSS1's house when we popped over to visit. But I was nervous about her coming to our house, as she is very posh. She was lovely though, DDIL1 took her on a tour of our house and she loved the size and airiness of our bedroom, kitchen and bathroom (they are very big!). I think I have a bit of a complex because we've done so much to this house, done it well, but it's still an ex LA house (the people we bought it from made an absolute fortune..bought it for very little, sold it for very lot!)
She was also very interested in all the fruit and veg that we grow, I don't normally do a tour of the garden as I think it's not that interesting unless you're already interested IYSWIM, but we had quite a chat about it all.
And she likes cats, and my cats decided to be sociable, which helped.
Anyway. Sourdough bread is baking in the oven, smells fab. Will be having HM burgers for dinner, and potato croquettes (not HM, M&S. Yah yah, I could make them cheaper myself blah blah blah. I haven't had spare mashed potato in a while, and I happen to like M&S croquettes, they taste like the ones I make when I do make them).
This afternoon will be sorting out some washing. New line won't arrive until Tuesday, so I will have lots of wet washing all over the house til then. No other housework planned today.0 -

Good afternoon everyone
what a lovely day it in is the west - I've done some washing and its currently hanging out to dry which is a great feeling as its been raining for the last few weeks:j Have to do another set of washing later, so i'll pop that in the machine in a bit. I also have to tidy my room and hoover it, which isn't exciting but needs to be done. I've told my housemates we really need to clean the kitchen but they're not keen so maybe i'll do that later as well.
Have lots of revision to do this afternoon as my exam is on wednesday - had a bit of a panic earlier as i dont seem to know very much! Then I have 3 recitals on friday, so I'll be practising a lot this week too
Had HM leek and potato soup for lunch which was nice (even if i do say so myself!) and I'm having lamb chops with mashed potato and gravy for tea
-hugs- to those who need/want one.

Oh dear. The lettuce soup is 'not really to our taste'. LOL DH says it tastes like lettuce milkshake. (It has a little cream in it.) Any ideas for how to jazz it up to try again with it? (It has onion, lettuce, mint and cream in it and is chilled.)
Managed to go to the garden centre without buying anything. The friends I gave a lift to picked up some lovely bedding plants though. There is something sprouting in my baskets though so I'm waiting to see if it's anything interesting before buying anything.
Blurgh. I can still taste that soup! I've never had cold soup or cooked lettuce before so maybe it's an aquired taste. Or maybe i just did something wrong!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Good morning to you all.
ohh Gigham.. good news about the chocolate stuff, my aunt who is vegan was so angry when i told her, so i will ring her later to tell her the good news
Why would a vegan be interested in where the whey came from?I'm vegan, but my OH and children aren't so they are pleased with this. I think, though, that Masterfoods were less concerned with how the vegetarians felt about this (and Hindus too who would not be able to eat it) than the profits they could see dwindling. Or am I just a bit too cynical?
This is the first time I've posted on a daily thread. I woke up this morning and thought "I can't face today". I had to though. I seem to have spent most of the day in the kitchen with very little to show for it. I've made a batch of weetabix brownies (I have some more to use up still), some orange shortbread which is rapidly disappearing, a bakewell tart (I'm not sure it's cooked properly though as I really battle with my oven), and I have two loaves of bread in now. I still haven't decided what to do for dinner, and am fed up with cooking. Beans on toast probably.0 -
GR The lettuce soup I made was hot. It was quite nice. Sorry I can't give you the recipe as it's a million miles away  but maybe if you heat it up it will taste nicer. I've never tried chilled soup either.
Well better start packing and ironing. Pop back later.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
