Did not go to court, but very much a success nonetheless.
After a couple of phone calls from TC solicitors in the past few days, they have agreed to settle in full - E1200, court fee plus 8% interest(less a small amount we agreed to forego for some sundries, under £20). Cheque will be within 14 days.
I have emailed the court to this effect but haven't closed the case yet until money cleared.
Thanks very much to all who helped and advised along the way.
My advice is to persevere and stand firm with your figures - you deserve it.
Will repost when money cleared :-)0 -
Well done EtD - well worth sticking to your guns!0

Just returned from Portsmouth County Court. Thomson failed to appear but I'd received a letter from them yesterday (the first correspondence since the original hearing in October 2013 when the claim was stayed pending Dawson v TA). That letter suggested that the enclosed cheque represented a full and final settlement of my claim but was, imho, a blatant last minute attempt to bulldoze me into accepting a lower figure than I'd claimed. It didn't work, but the judge decided (in their absence) that it amounted to an admission of liability and awarded me the full amount, plus court listing and hearing fees, plus travelling/parking expenses, plus a sum in respect of lost earnings for my two court appearances. Interest only at 4% but I'm not complaining. Total over £1,600. Happy with that and pleased finally to end this sage - which relates to a flight from July 2008 !!!! Thanks for all the info gleaned from this forum :-)0
