  • Our money arrived in our account today, after settling out of court on Friday, ending a battle that's taken nearly 2 years. Thomson were surprisingly quick to pay once it was all agreed.

Thanks again to everyone who's contributed here, i would never have got this far without all the knowledge I've picked up from these forums, and knowing I'm not the only one fighting the battle.

  • Finally after over 2 years (and 2 children) TC have agreed to settle out of court as my solicitor wrote to them last Friday offering a deal of 3% interest plus costs instead of 8%.
They practically bit his hand of and I should have the cheque by the end of the month.
Still will never fly with them ever again though. Cheers everybody!

A very long road! I was so happy this evening I booked another holiday for the end of March... A week in Bude. No flying delays for me! :D
  • 3% sounds like a fair compromise, fantastic news, glad it all worked out in the end of a long fight for you and your family.

  • I have just reached a settlement with Virgin after 5 years of fighting them ! I got the full amount of claim, plus interest, plus legal costs but don't think they have done any of us any favours, they haven't. They have put us through hell for 5 years and literally paid up 'on the court steps'. It's about time this airline apologised for leaving people, many of whom were elderly, for over 3 hours in a baking hot airport without even a drink of water. The final delay being 5 minutes short of 5 hours !
