Wow - they employed a barrister to do that, when they could have given you that months ago? They must have money coming out their ears.

Well done Superowls - and welcome to the club!

Just arrived back from court, when I got there a barrister was sat waiting for me.

He asked to speak to me before we went into court and offered the full settlement including 8% interest and full costs.

The order was drafted out and given to the judge who accepted this without hearing the case and TC now have 14 days to pay £2589.53

The flight in question was TCX174 on G-OMYT flying from MAN (Manchester) to CCC (Cayo Coco, Cuba)

    Well done indeed.
    UTO WAWAW!!
Successfully sued Ryanair in 2013/14...and have been 'helping' litigants since then.

    Current known score:-
Dr Watson 35 - 0 Ryanair / Ince and Co

Go to post 622 on the Ryanair thread to read how to sue them safely.

  • Victory at last! I started the process of claiming about 12 months ago and posted here in April https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/65342755#Comment_65342755 In common with many other people I had my case stayed pending the supreme court huzar appeal.
I didn't even have to attend court, Virgin sent me a cheque for the full amount I was claiming for all four members of my family, plus costs, plus a small additional amount without any prompting at all.

I'm pleased with the outcome and will now write to the court informing them that Virgin have settled the claim.
  • It's take two years to chase compensation for our delay in 2010 but we've just settled with Thomson!

Following the rejection of the Dawson appeal application to the supreme court, I've been negotiating with Tony Moran by email and we secured 1200 EUR, full costs including a day off work to attend a hearing, and 6% interest. They initially offered 4%, but we kept pushing and their final offer was 6%. I asked the judge's opinion at a telephone hearing in July, and they didn't approve of 8% and thought 3% would be more suitable, so by staying out of court we've earned some extra money.

Total amount is £1509.99. Now time to spend it on something frivolous!

Thanks to everyone on here who's helped - I really couldn't have done it without the community working together.

Well done and also thanks to Thomson for accepting the SC decision,

    6% sounds a fair compromise :j:j
