I once saw a sentencing in a theft case where the victim whose salary was being diverted into someone else's bank account hadn't noticed that he'd not been paid - for 8 months. That was extremely odd, to my way of thinking.
I check my on-line banking regularly - I'm self-employed, so I don't have £x coming in on a regular schedule, and need to move money from current account to savings or vice versa....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
