British Airways rip off!!

Thinking of paying the extra to fly BA? Think again!

Do you know on certain routes BA have a policy of ONE ALCOHOLIC DRINK PER PERSON PER FLIGHT!!!!

& There is no option to purchase any drinks on board!! You might as well save your money and fly budget, where you can at least drink when & what you like.

Staff confirmed this is a new policy on 'holiday' routes.

News to me. I flew to Malaga (by definition a "holiday route") with BA last weekend and had 4 small bottles of wine on the way out. I didn't drink on the way back as I was driving but there were plenty around me who were having more than one drink and asking for more than one at the same time.

You sure they just didn't want to serve you?

I've never had this problem on BA, although I wouldn't care if this was the policy - don't see the need for people to get drunk just because they are on a plane and it's free.

The only time I've heard of BA not serving is - 1) passengers who have already had too much 2) Over Saudi

  • Which "staff"? Sounds like you had had one too many before boarding,
Or perhaps you work for ryanair or easyjet?

  • Flights in question were both weekend return flights to Lanzarote.

Staff were the ALL the staff who were on the flight & also their customer relations team, who I complained to on return.

I also don't think one G&T after take off & requesting a glass of wine with the 'meal' excessive on a 4 hour flight?
  • & obviously it was the whole of economy who were restricted to one drink, not just me!

Did you have a drink in the terminal before boarding?

I fly BA for the price and the service, not the booze!

Yet another poster that seem to not comprehend the meaning of the term "rip off".

The flights don't carry unlimited stocks of alcohol so crew have to restrict it to make it last for both sectors, imagine if it had all gone on the outbound and there had been non left on the inbound. That I'm sure would have made you even happier
