Just got my letter from DWP this morning!!

I was so expecting a battle because my disease is so rare. God bless my GP and Consultant for there support letters and Medical Evidence.

It says ill get £121.96 a week I thought support group was £105 a week?

New ESA Support group rate = £106.50
    New EDP = £15.15 = £121.65/week
EDP is only paid if you are on IR ESA Support group - not on Contributions sort.

Then how did I get into the Support Group in Jan 2010 for three years and again this January until June next year if it was all to do with saving money without any evidence being sent in? Do you think that they made a mistake with me?

Or as I like to believe, they got it right as they do in most cases.

no they don't, which is why 42% of appeals are successful, only you could think you are sicker than someone who's about to drop dead...

Hi, first of all well done on getting this I have heard how hard this can be.........
Second of all I have a question..... I applied for ESA Beginning of September last year and had my forms through 6 weeks ago, I filled them out and sent them back and today I had a call from ATOS. The lady was very nice and informative but she did say I have to have an appointment with them, when I asked what happens at these she said it is not a physical medical assessment and that I will just be asked questions to answer....she said I won't be asked to do anything at all. Has anyone heard of this before???

Of that 42% how many make it into the Support Group? On the other hand I could say that 58% of appeals actually prove that the DWP were right with their decision.

This discussion is about getting into the Support Group without a medical OR an appeal.

How many would you think do it that way AND with little or no evidence other than the ESA50?

Great news, I was also recently placed in the support group without a medical and it's such a relief to have the worry over with (at least for a while) isn't it :).

I'm also in the Support Group and get the same amount: £121.96 per week. I have Tourette's and OCD which makes me life hell. I was shocked I even got accepted for ESA after reading everything about ATOS. I'm happy for you, we're some of the lucky ones.

Well when you hear some of the horror stories it does make you feel lucky.

When I spoke to the JobCentre about the ESA85A he said that the amount of medical evidence backed up the esa50 and there was no need for a medical.

He advised me to keep collecting evidence and save it for any reassessment. I have a review after 12 months.

I was convinced I wasn't going to qualify. You read so much horror on forums. Especially qualify for the Support Group. So when I read the letter I was elated.
