    Well I nabbed NSD # 4 today. :j

We did a big shop from the joint account today but I don't include that in my spends and we decided on a chippy tea tonight but hubby paid, he wouldn't let me, as apparently I am unemployed at the moment.... :rotfl: (he does know mat leave is paid, lol. I haven't tricked him) but I don't want to be kept either so will need to repay the favour at some point.

Thanks to freeby and everyone who does the updates I don't know how you all do it. :T:T

CW - regarding Virgin, I'd make a list of all the channels you watch in the week and see how many of those are on Freeview, and then think of any you'd really miss if you didn't have them. If it's just for a one off show / series, see how much it might be to download the series on iTunes - it could be cheaper even if the series is £30 or so considering a whole series can run 2 - 4 months - esp if its a US show. 4 months would be £160 for just one show

You can also sign up to SkyGo without having Sky TV to watch things on your laptop or a smart TV etc. I think you can do a monthly ongoing subscription or a one of payment for a month if there was something you were desperate to see.

Although I must admit we do have the full Sky package but OH (and me) watches tons of the football so it does get used.

Kerri, thanks for that advice and I have done just that. The channels I mainly watch are available on Freeview (the odd film on Film4, ITV3 and the Yesterday channel). I am not a big TV fan. I am usually out during the week and I prefer DVDs or catch-up. (hum potential to dispose of the TV licence there!). I am going to get rid including the TiVo box. Broadband alone is still £22.50 per month  though. I will need to check-out other providers but I don't have a BT line so don't want to pay any charges to have one installed, neither do I want to be locked into an 18 month contract when I haven't renewed my tenancy agreement here which will depend on the rental increase later in the summer.

Midnight outside Ennessdee Towers. A faint sliver of a moon appears from behind a cloud. A sleek black limousine purrs to a sexy halt outside the front door. The driver's door opens, a small, slightly twisted figure hops out. The merest hint of moonlight highlights the battered suitcase containing a finely-sharpened set of chef's knives, and an old rucksack containing an ever-increasing collection of recipe books, the latest being Mr Stein's collaboration with the Womens' Institute "Seafood Jams and Preserves"......sadly, the bookmark is inserted at the page for "Whelk and Winkle Conserve".......anyway, back to our tale.......the figure opens the car boot and hauls out two largeish wrapped bundles bound in chains....various yelps and squeals can be heard as the bundles are hauled up the steps of Ennessdee Towers and through the front door, where they are unwrapped and then....

Heavvvvve! Ho!!! Kersplosh! The first 2 NSDs from Nargleblast are in the Cauldron of Doom!

Ok Igor, you can go and take your break now. Fifteen minutes and not a second longer, I need you to valet my limousine as I am going out tonight. And iron my second best frock, will you? After you have run a nice warm bath for me. And pour me a sherry. And don't forget my killer heels need buffing - you can put a new sole on the left one while you're at it....

Tough one about the broadband CW - based on this the only BB provider who don't use the BT lines is Virgin, although it looks like plusnet also offer a fibre optic service too if you look at bb comparisons on Mysupermarket.

I guess the other option would be a broadband dongle, you can get ones PAYG or a 30-Day rolling contract. Initally compared to what some of the big companies off, the dongle speeds look naff, but i've just done a test and my download is running at 3.4MB with upload of 0.7MB - and I'm not even out in the sticks!

Kerri, I think I will try Virgin again tomorrow. I would consider myself a heavy user and need the speed especially for when I get back to work so a dongle would be a false economy I think. If I cancel the TV and phone, they may come up with a deal. If not, I will stick with the broadband I have (still saving £14 a month) until I know what my rent increase is and have made a decision to stay or move. I've been here 4 years and my landlord is a reasonable guy so I'm hoping it will be minimal as in previous years.

    Thanks for your advice (again!).

Luckily I have managed to get some free boxes, but a LOT more needed for a large record collection so might have to bite the bullet and b....bbbbb.....bu......buy some (see even thinking about spending money makes me nervous:rotfl:).

    Hi Ood

Have you tried advertising for moving boxes on Gumtree and/or free cycle or whatever version there is near you, our site is always trading boxes...perhaps they are the same ones just going round everybody....:rotfl:

As for me well today was another NSD, but I've lost count....will try to update sensibly tomorrow.
    Enjoy rest of (sunny?) week

P.s. thanks Freeby for the updates
