    Morning all,

I've had NSD#1&2 so far this month so am happy with that.
Taking family out today and tomorrow so there will be some spends involved in that but not too much I hope!
Then I'm back on focussing on NSD's for next week. I really want to meet my target this month as I haven't been able to for the past two months.
Hope everyone enjoys the sunny (!) bank holiday Sunday!

  • I love that picture! One of my uni lectures would insert that sort of image into his powerpoints, then get us to recap which ones we'd seen as a sort of pop-quiz at the end of lecture, to make sure we'd been paying attention. Loved it! He also had a soft, vinyl brain he would throw out at us and whoever caught it would have to answer a question about something we'd discussed in lecture. Was a great way to get us all involved...

Meanwhile, I cant claim a NSD for yesterday (the 2nd was friday, though it took til yesterday to confirm!) since we booked the cake and the cars, and ended up going to look at some show homes that we're considering looking into, and stopped for ice-cream floats on the way home. But, i am aiming for one today, and one tomorrow.

I love how enthusiastic and cheery everyone is, and so supportive. It really makes me smile. xx

Afternoon everyone, well I might be on track for another unexpected NSD. I was planning to get up early and go in search of a butchers as i need some pork for a pie I'm making later this week and butchers tend to be closed on Mondays - however this jet lag is playing havoc with my body clock, I'm staying up late and it's a total nightmare trying to get up in the morning (given i'm not a morning person it's even worse) - I can lie in bed with my mind telling me I need to move, but my body just refuses to budge.

Anyway, that means I'm not going to be heading out to the butchers after all today - might get out and mow the lawn later though.

Thanks for all your lovely wishes about getting rid of one of our debt early, it was a small(ish) one in comparison to some of the others but it's nice to get it off the list. :j

did anyone have any thoughts about my pet insurance quandary?

NSD 2 today. I went to Waitrose to help my grandma with her shopping and then we enjoyed sipping our free coffees in the cafe and reading the free magazine thanks to our MyWaitrose cards.

Thanks beanie - I've only ever made a claim on her insurance once since we've had her (thankfully) and that was for cystitis. I'm sure I was paying near £30 a month when we had the two of them, and I did claim a couple of times for our old boy when he was diagnosed with feline CRF as he was covered on an ongoing basis. Although it was serious, it was mainly his diet that was the expensive bit as its was a case of 'he has CRF, there's no way to cure it, special diet will help his body manage it for however long it can' ... in the end it was something else that took him from us that was too aggressive and far on to be treated :( I do currently have other ways of covering the costs should she need treatment which is why I'm seriously starting to think cancelling the policy at the moment.
