Please note the in(famous) rock cakes...the 'rock' part being taken a little too literally

Evening all - well most of my evening has been spent assembling a pork, leek and apricot pie a la Hairy Biker stylee - its taken s*dding ages and I still need to cook it (can't leave it assembled uncooked in the fridge until tomorrow unfortunately). I'm a little skeptical to say the least about the pasty as it took several attempts to get it to fit the tin and I'm somewhat worried that its rolled unevenly. Need it for a food day at work on Thurs so glad i didn't leave it until tomorrow to do it all (still got the cider and sage jelly to do tomorrow) although i'm up early tomorrow and could've done with an early night after not sleeping well last night).

However on the upside, declaring NSD #6 :j think its the best start I've had to a month. I did have to book 4 nights up in Scotland tonight but I'm counting that as a house expense as it's to see OH's family. We're driving up as it just gets so costly to fly when you factor in either taxi's to / from the airpor, or airport parking, plus car hire up there. By the time you've paid for all that plus flights, it's still cheaper to drive (although I can't say I enjoy the journey :() However this time we're staying in a Prem. Inn nearby OH family so had to book sooner rather than later to get a decent rate.
