I read yesterday there was a clinic in Swansea. People were complaining they were profiteering, which is silly, as I would guess they have been providing them for years, rather than just started?0 -
Actually, just looked them up, and they show a Swansea number, but don't list it as one of their clinics? Maybe it is a new one after all? They are an established firm though, so I still don't consider it profiteering.0

They've hired a hotel room to vaccinate children. No indication that they ever thought of opening in Swansea until the measles outbreak. Flying in to a city in panic to offer something that they will profit from is absolutely profiteering. Children are less protected with the single jab, and there's a risk that they won't receive all 6. All they are doing is perpetuating the myth that there's something risky about MMR.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -
I didnt think that it had been confirmed that the 25 year old in wales died from measles only that he had measles at the time he died?Snootchie Bootchies!0

[QUOTE=notanewuser;60889853
I'd never take my health, or that of my daughter, for granted like the !!!!less parents in Swansea.[/QUOTE]
What a rude remark to make..............To follow blindly what this government says without questioning, says more about the parents.
Read up on the thalidomide victims to see what the Government regulates as safe. Im sure there will be loads more.....
As for the Vaccine....The problem was not the unwillingness to vaccinate a child but the concentration of the dose(3 vaccs at once)coupled with the theorythat this could cause autism.
We did not use the triple vaccs, and were refused the single ones (even tho they were available) time and time again by the Health visitor, who seemed to have a bee in her bonnet that I could question her and the Doctor.
By giving the single vaccs to those who wanted them, then this epidemic would not be taking place, Refusing to give single vaccs is what caused this, but as usual the Government could not be seen to be bowing to pressure and coupled with all the politics that go with profit and drug companies/Government0 -

DD won't be having her second dose yet!
Whereabouts are you?
Unless you're in the heart of Swansea I doubt anybody would immunise a 4 month old - it's less effective in under 1s.
My friends DD was 1 last December. She had the MMR in Feb but has just been called to have the second dose!
We are in the Swansea valley0 -
What they're doing is providing a service to parents who would choose single vaccine or no vaccine, so in fact are lessening the chance of an epidemic. I would also say any parent willing to pay £110 for a vaccine is far more likely to complete the course, as they obviously are very interested in their child's health...even if you don't agree with them. It is 3 vaccines not 6, as the rubella does not require a booster, and mumps isn't currently available.
There are also studies to suggest that fewer vaccines at once, and wider spacing, means a better immune response.
There is a lot of misinformation out there around single vaccines. I spoke to a reputable well established clinic yesterday, and the lady told me she was quite offended by some of the suggestions regarding their professional integrity.0 -

Back up those statements with evidence please.
Any parent who would choose single vaccine or no vaccine is !!!!less and selfish. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the MMR vaccine. It is safe and gives overall better protection and immunity levels than the single vaccines.
Also, the single vaccines aren't licensed for general use in this country.

My son was born in 1999 and Dd was born in 2001 when all of this blew up in the press.
I paid for both of them to have single vaccines. We also went to a hotel for them to have their jabs.
They are both now in a comprehensive where measles has been confirmed0 -

I hope they're okay.
