The email that the OP received shows that there was an error in the original advert so why did the person spoken to on the phone deny this?
Hi George Michael,
Thanks for your question.
The official representatives for Very.co.uk (including myself) work on numerous social media websites, forums and emails. We offer assistance to anybody we feel we can help or to anybody who has any issues or complaints.
The OP's initial post regarding the item being wrongly described is something that we on our department are only aware of when it was posted on here. We have no access to any previous calls or emails made until the account holder emails into us at the address given by Lizzie in our first response. If a mistake on our behalf is mentioned (as it clearly was in this case) we can track the calls made and deal internally with any issues regarding further help or training with the advisor.
If any item received by of our customers is not the same as the item described, we would always offer a return. The fact that this wasn't offered at the time of the call is why we asked the OP to email us so that we can investigate further (as Ellie has done in here email response to OP).
We recognise that mistakes can be made and customers may have problems - this is one of the reasons we have official company status on this forum as well as many others. This forum is another example of how Very can reach out and help their customers as we have done with many people on this forum who have sent us their details in the past.
Whilst we realise that the OP shouldn't have had to post on here to get the correct response, we have done our best to help them out and are satisfied the the OP is happy with our resolution.
Hope this helps
Chris

Very arn't the company they used to be - some of their price claims are ridiculous:-

Worth a tenner max (less than a fiver in many shops).
Also, BNPL used to be added to the account for you to pay off as normal. Now , if you dont pay off in full before the end of the BNPL period - interest is added immediately (backed dated to the purchase date) - and monthly payments cannot be paid of using take 3.0
