if I were you I would go on my own if you cant find someone to go with you!
I went to greece last year on my own and loved every second! no 'what do you want to do today?' or 'shall we go here later?' etc - just chill out by the pool and do what you like!!0 -
oh, also - being the lead passenger you may have trouble taking your name off the booking. when I was a travel agent, if the lead passenger decided not to go the holiday had to be cancelled and then re-booked with the new details. I dont know if that has changed (was over 12 years ago) but probably best to look into before making any rash decisions!0

I'd say forget the money. You're not going to get it back. And then think is it worth wasting the holiday because of how some idiot has treated you?
I think not. I'm sure you can find a friend who can go (given it's a paid for holiday). Ok you will have paid for the whole lot but on the plus side you'll make a friend happy, you'll get a holiday, and it won't be over £1000 thrown down the drain.
If you can't find anyone to go with then go yourself. How bad can a few days in the sun by the pool be?
Think of it this way. You either throw away £1000 or you don't.......0 -
Could you change the date to later in the year and instead of a fairly expensive holiday for 2 make it cheapy long weekend for say 4, maybe then it would be more affordable to a few of your mates?Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

I know its a lot of money, but I'd offer the other place to someone for free and go and have a lovely time. Even your mum might want to go?
If you really can't find someone, be brave and go alone, pack lots of silly easy to read fiction and go exploring! This could be a real adventure.. I'm jealous just thinking about the fun you could have!0 -

What sort of holiday is it? If it's with a company as a package you might be able to get it changed. I know someone who had this problem last year, they had booked a really big holiday with their partner to South Africa but then split up a month before they were due to fly. He could have gone on his own but just didn't fancy going after the break up on a what was suppose to be a special holiday and with all the memories of what they had planned. The tour operator wouldn't refund the money in the circumstances but would issue a credit note so the lead person took that and has booked two holidays for this year in place of that one and in the mean time has found a new partner to go with on them.[FONT="]“I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” ~ Maya Angelou[/FONT][FONT="][/FONT]0
