If your landlady has sold the property she will have to have informed you in writing. If this is the new landlord and you do not have his address and details no rent is dur until you do have those details .. at this point the rent will become due to the date the the arrears began to mount.

the landlord who ever they are can not evict you with out a correct notice, a possession order granted by the court and a bailiffs warrant. to do so is illegal.

You can either contact a solicitor you can get help under legal aid if you qualify or contact your local authorities public housing officer who can act for you and prosecute your landlord if any attempt is made to illegally evict you.

I am a Housing Law solicitor and deal with these type of cases on a daily basis.. get legal assistance now. IF the landlord or who ever this guy is tried to evict you without a court order call the police it is a criminal and a civil offence.

    Good luck

It's simple. Let him show you proof that he is the landlord, also get him to give you the old landlady's contact details to verify.

This was my advice before, it's my advice now.

Do you know your landlady's name? If yes then you can pay £2 to the land registry website to find out the name of the person that owns the house.
